The SIP-BFA crankcases are equipped with different bearings and Oil Seals than the original Vespa crankcases. This is primarily due to the significantly sturdier design of the Crankshaft, which is supported on both sides by very generously dimensioned bearings. The fixed bearing is located in the smaller half of the engine, while a roller bearing is located in the larger half. This also necessitated a different positioning of the Oil Seal.

The transmission bearings remain the same as those used, for example, in a PX. However, the Kickstart Shaft is fitted with two additional Needle Bearings. It is sealed by a proper Oil Seal instead of the O-Ring that is originally installed in Vespa engines.

Of course, we carry all the necessary bearings and Oil Seals. They are available individually or as a kit.
