Smallframe
Luigi - Smallframe enthusiast with heart and hand
Born in Sardinia, Luigi came into contact with Vespas at an early age - he had his first experience at 13 and was allowed to ride smallframes at 14. His passion for the little classics has remained: He has overhauled and perfected countless Engines since then.
As a trained mechanic who has learnt the technology from the ground up, Luigi combines expertise with dedication. His Special with Falc 153cc Evolution Cylinder delivers an impressive 32 hp, while a second Special with 25 hp serves as a reliable touring vehicle. His fleet includes other smallframes, including PK models - for Luigi, Screws is more than a hobby, it's his passion.
Sven - Smallframe expert and all-rounder
Sven is our versatile all-rounder, particularly adept at small frames. His passion for Gear Pulleys can be seen in his impressive V50 Special, which he built up in 2013 with a Polini 130 Cylinder and Parmakit Ignition. Active since 1999, his two-wheeler journey began in 1996 with an Italjet Formula 50cc.
Formerly self-employed in the Vespa sector (2007-2015), Sven has been contributing his expertise and enthusiasm to our team since 2015 - a competent contact for Switch and automatic scooters.
Lukas - a smallframe specialist through and through
Lukas discovered his passion for Vespas at the end of the 2010s with a Vespa 50 Rundlicht, built in 1970. After his first rides on a 75 Formula and a SIP Banana, he quickly realised that he needed more power. With a 144 Quattrini, 54mm Long Stroke Crankshaft, Mamba Exhaust and Silent Silencer, he consistently tuned his Vespa for performance.
As a passionate Screws enthusiast, Lukas spends countless hours in the workshop and knows smallframes inside out. His expertise makes him one of our most important specialists for classic Vespas.
Ruben - young talent with racing ambitions
ruben started Screws in 2019, initially on mopeds. Today, he relies on a Vespa Special with a 150cc M1L Quattrini Cylinder, which delivers an impressive 26 hp at the rear wheel. He entered the European Scooter Challenge (ESC) in 2024, where he took 2nd place in the last race of the beginner class. For the next season, he will be competing in the K5 single class.
Despite his young age, Ruben has an impressive knowledge of the smallframe sector. His quick comprehension and intensive dialogue with other racers have made him a real expert - a great asset to our team.
Vespa Largeframe
Nico - two-wheel champion and scene veteran
Nico, rider of the legendary "FlaminGo", is a well-known face in the scooter scene. A passionate Screws mechanic and former scooter shop owner in Freiburg since 1996, he brings invaluable experience to our technical support as a master craftsman.
Whether classic scooters such as Vespa and Lambretta or modern Vespa: Nico's expertise is wide-ranging. His experience from acceleration races and engine repairs make him a competent advisor - even if he sometimes says: "A Crankcase is a wearing part." A colleague with heart - or as he says himself: one of you.
Max - expert for classic Vespas
Max has been with the company for over 15 years and, like many of us, has turned his hobby into a profession. At the age of 15, he already owned two ready-to-ride PX models, both 80s with 135 DR, and has been screwing all classic scooters ever since. His Malossi 221 Reed Valve MHR on a reed valve delivers around 30 hp, combined with a SIP Performance Racing Exhaust.
His fleet includes gems such as a VM1, an Acma, a V56, a T4 Augsburg, a 125 TS, a 200 Rally, a V50 Special and another PX 200. With a 40 m² workshop, Max has fulfilled a real dream - his private realm for classic Vespas, where he is also happy to welcome colleagues for a beer. Max specialises in electrics, engine technology, chassis and conversion work on all classic models - an indispensable member of our team.
Angelo - Vespa and Ciao specialist
Angelo's two-wheeler journey began at the age of 8 with a moped for his birthday, and at 10 he took on his brother's 50cc Special - and started wrenching on it. His two-wheeler CV reads like a classic: mopeds, Ciao, Superbravo, Hercules - always in keeping with his age. The turning point came when a PX fell into his hands and his passion was finally unleashed. Typical of the 90s: Garelli mudguard conversions, Malossi Cylinders, Righthand systems - Angelo has experienced it all.
Today, he is our specialist for cylinder tuning, carburettor technology, electrics and restorations. In addition to Vespas, he is also passionate about Piaggio Ciao and other classic two-wheelers, in which he is just as deeply rooted.
Roger - Master mechanic and specialist for tuning and restoration
Having grown up in the Augsburg scooter scene, Roger has been a valued member of the SIP family for five years. Privately, he owns an impressive collection of small and largeframe models, which he looks after with great dedication in his workshop.
As a master car mechanic, Roger has extensive expertise and is a sought-after contact for our customers, especially in tricky cases. His strength lies in cross-model tuning and restoration. With his ability to tailor customer-orientated solutions to the individual needs and skills of each conversion, he makes even the most challenging projects possible.
Christoph - Master technician with a passion for conversions
Christoph bought his first Primavera 125 at the age of 15 and was active in the scooter club scene around Lake Ammersee in the 1990s. Today, he changes his Vespa models depending on his interests and also rides motorbikes.
As a master vehicle technician, Christoph has many years of experience. Before joining us in 2018, he was a workshop manager in motorbike development. He specialises in vehicles across all classes: Modern Vespa, Lambretta, Largeframe and Smallframe. He has particularly in-depth expertise in the areas of chassis, brakes, carburettor technology and special conversions. If you are planning conversions with third-party engines, special chassis or other customised modifications, Christoph is the right man for the job.
Fabi - Store expert with 140 km/h travelling speed
At the SIP Store, Fabi is involved in extraordinary projects on a daily basis and has acquired a broad knowledge of the small, wide and large frame sector in recent years. As a state-certified technician, he not only has in-depth expertise, but also benefits from his direct access to the products in the store - an advantage that makes him the first choice for customers.
Fabi is particularly passionate about large frames. His own vehicle, a 244 Quattrini with Malossi casing, diaphragm control and English exhaust system, easily reaches 140 km/h touring speed - sitting upright.
Fabi is a sought-after expert for tuning, carburettor technology, electrics and chassis. His expertise and commitment make him the ideal point of contact for any project.
Wideframe
Oliver - Wideframe expert and restoration professional
Oliver is our contact for all wideframe models. He discovered this passion in the mid-2000s and has been an integral part of our team for over 15 years. Privately, Oliver scours Europe's markets in search of OEM items and rare vehicles, which he restores with great dedication.
Whether it's shift linkages, original gaskets or the smallest differences in wideframes - Oliver knows every detail where others have long since passed. His enthusiasm for the Farro Basso is also evident in his tuning: "When it comes to knowledge, Oli is our living Google.
Modern Vespa
Christoph - Modern Vespa specialist and custom pro
Thanks to his extensive knowledge of 4-stroke engines, Christoph is one of our Modern Vespa specialists. Whether tuning or complex conversions - he almost always has the right solution at hand. No wonder he is an integral part of our custom team.
For projects such as the "Something Special" with BFA Engine, the "Pordoi GTS Custom" or the "30 Years Custom Tribute" based on a Vespa Primavera, Christoph not only helped develop the conversions, but also led the team. Many components that are now available as standard parts are based on his innovative customised solutions.
