Italy's premium tuning company MALOSSI, a reference in high-end scooter tuning for decades, has fundamentally revised the tried-and-tested OVERRANGEKIT. By replacing the entire CVT, the transmission ratio is significantly optimized: larger rear V-Belt Pulleys, a heavy-duty X-KEV Belt and the MALOSSI TEAM VARIATOR 2008 ensure better acceleration and increased top speed - a must-have for sprint and circuit setups.

The core of the OVERRANGEKITS is the modification of the entire CVT (continuously variable transmission). The enlarged rear V-Belt Pulleys of the MALOSSI TOURQUE DRIVE allow the Belt to run further out, which enables a longer gear ratio and thus higher top speed without sacrificing acceleration. At the same time, the X-KEV Belt improves power transmission and running stability under high loads.
In the 2010 version, the MALOSSI TEAM VARIATOR 2008 replaces the previous overrange variator. The pitch angle of the belt and roller tracks has been revised to make the transmission behavior more homogeneous and increase torque. For stability reasons, the outer diameter of the Bushing has been increased from 20 mm to 22 mm, while lateral milling reduces the overall weight of the Variator and improves the response behavior. The kit also includes a specially tuned Contrast Spring and MALOSSI FETT 7.1 MRG for lubrication. Important: The front V-Belt Pulley is not included in the scope of delivery.

"OVER RANGE" Malossi transmission system
With this letter, we would like to inform you that the complete OVER RANGE kit is now available on sale.
Indeed, the components that must be fitted together in order to obtain the best possible performances on tracks are now available through a sole code and at a better price.
This new transmission system takes full advantage of the Malossi components already on sale last year, by adding several new parts that make the entire system particularly suited to the enormous power available. This latest system hinges on the new Fixed Pulley of the torque driver that has a larger diameter and the very latest specifications. The larger diameter of this pulley allows one to have a greater velocity-ratio range compared to the original pulley that has a notably smaller external diameter.
Malossi engineers have also taken particular care in realising this pulley right down to the smallest detail, using special materials and a particular type of thermochemical treatment that ensures exceptional surface hardness and therefore excellent wear and abrasion resistance. This new fixed pulley has been designed to offer perfect running if coupled to the Malossi Torque Driver that is already available and has the same diameter as the fixed pulley itself. In order to fully exploit the range of the new torque driver unit and the power ratings currently offered by competition machines, a new notched K Belt has been introduced with larger section and revised length to ensure maximum performance under all running conditions.
To complete the renewal of the transmission system and take full advantage of its exceptional specifications, the Multivar variable-speed drive has also been upgraded by fitting it with new tracks for the rollers and a new hub. This new variable-speed drive represents the evolution of the previous generations, the result of many years experience on the race circuit and the currently available CAD-CAM technology that allows top-level specifications to be obtained.
The whole completion of the OVER RANGE system is given by the patented adjustable clutch Delta Clutch and the Malossi reinforced clutch cap Safety Bell Clutch. New Malossi reinforced clutch cap SAFETY CLUTCH BELL art. 77 9218 is now available for scooters 50cc. The Malossi reinforced clutch cap has the function of protecting the user from a possible explosion of the clutch assembly. This protection was introduced at first in the racing scene, where this dangerous occurrence was rather frequent due to the high number of revs normally reached. Indeed, it is known that the centrifugal force developed by the rotation of a system increases to the square of the number of revs. - Considering that normally the clutch assembly has a rotating speed of about 12.000 rpm, in particular conditions it may reach and exceed 20.000 rpm, and cause the explosion of the clutch assembly. Therefore, Malossi recommends the use of this high-tech product to anybody using scooters in order to ensure its highest safety.
Technical specifications
The innovative element of the Malossi reinforced clutch cap is a steel explosion-proof ring fixed on the outside of the cap itself.
The cap is made of special steel with tight concentricity tolerances, and is dynamically balanced.
