There is no substitute for cylinder capacity, except even more cylinder capacity! This wisdom still applies today. With the DR 75cc you have 50% more displacement at one go and as a result also more performance.
Now you can cruise as a twosome to the ice cream parlour, with no problem. The DR can even deal with long distances at full throttle with no problem, thanks to the thick cylinder walls! In addition, all DR cylinders are painted black to protect against corrosion and for better heat dissipation. Anyone who would still like a bit more can work on the rather T-shaped exhaust and adapt the contour to a trapezoid shape.
Conclusion: Ideal cylinders for starting 2-person operation, suitable for long routes and full throttle, very good service life.
Cast iron/ 47mm bore/ 3 transfer ports/ 74.60cc
Cast iron cylinder, stroke 43mm, 3 transfer ports, pistons with 2 piston rings, exhaust width chord dimension 29mm, 6mm exhaust studs, original DR cylinder head included in delivery, compression 10.7:1, incl. gasket set. Jets should be adjusted. Fits on all Vespa 50/PK/XL/XL2 models, except PK automatic. Transfer ports match the originals, casing must not be modified.
SIP-TIP: Adjusting the main jet and a new spark plug is a must. Transmission recommendation here is at least the PINASCO pinion or a 3.72 transmission. The engine is made even sportier by a 16/ 16 carburettor, original exhaust with wider manifolds or the SITO banana.
SIP-Community User "FelixV50rundkopf":
"Good cylinder, torque increases and it can be driven substantially better when two are riding, with original transmission it has 65km/H. But be careful, because that is it. Very suitable for use in the city, where one does not drive much faster anyway, and no visual tuning steps are necessary either. Adjust 16.16 Dell'Orto and nozzle."
SERIE PRO also manufactures cylinders for Vespa 50 1° Serie V5A1T -> 92876. We've modified them so that they fit the first 50's Vespas with their smaller cylinder base connection in motor block.
