Special parts from CRIMAZ for Vespa engines—well-thought-out, detailed solutions based on Italian racing experience.
Cristian Mazelli is a Vespa enthusiast through and through. He has been active in Italian Vespa racing for years and has repeatedly encountered problems and parts of insufficient quality that he found unsuitable. These experiences, combined with his professional expertise in development and design, now go into his own line of specialty parts, which he markets under the name CRIMAZ. The result is beautiful, high-quality solutions for specific details.
CRIMAZ primary driven gears for Vespa Smallframe models feature a unique mounting design. They are clamped onto the Crankshaft via a Cone. This allows for the transmission of significantly greater force than with the original mounting.
CRIMAZ recommends tightening the primary sprockets to 60–70 Nm.
CRIMAZ primary pinions are available in different tooth counts for various Clutch Gear Cogs:
- 22-23-24-25 teeth for 72
- 25–26–27–28 teeth for 69
- 28–29 teeth for 67
- 23-24-25 teeth for 61, helical
The primary Drive Sprockets can be combined with gears from various manufacturers. They have been tested with CIF, NEWFREN, RMS, OLYMPIA, RICAMBIO RAPIDO, PINASCO, and DRT. The helical-toothed Drive Sprockets are designed for the original gear ratio of the ET3/Primavera.
To facilitate removal, the Drive Sprockets feature three threads into which a CRIMAZ Puller Tool can be screwed.
The large Drive Sprockets with 27, 28, or 29 teeth may, under certain circumstances, come into contact with the crankcase. In such cases, some reworking may be necessary before installation.
Conclusion: A very well-thought-out solution for a particularly secure connection between the Crankshaft and the primary drive, combined with many options for customizing the gear ratio.
