DERBI Atlantis 125 cc 4T LC
Overview DERBI
In 1922, Simeón Rabasa i Singla opened a bicycle shop in Mollet del Vallès in Catalonia, Spain. The business continued to develop and in 1944 Simeón and his brother José founded the company Bicicletas Rabasa. The company presented the SRS, a 48 cc moped with 1.5 hp at 4500 rpm, which could reach a speed of 45 km/h. It was equipped with a telescopic fork and a telescopic rear fork. It was equipped with a Telescope Fork, two manual gears and Drum Brakes.
Then, in 1950, the business took a significant turn. The motorbike business was renamed Nacional Engine Rabasa S.A. and the DERBI motorbike with 250 cc and 9 hp was introduced. This motorbike demonstrated DERBI's exceptional technical capabilities. Interestingly, the name DERBI comes from DERivada de BIcicleta, which literally means "derived from bicycle", hinting at the company's origins as a bicycle shop.
DERBI celebrated great success in motorsport from 1968 to 2010: twelve drivers' world championships, nine constructors' titles and 106 Grand Prix victories speak for themselves.
The big change in production happened in 2001: DERBI became part of the Piaggio Group. Two new models are launched on the market: the Derbi GP1 scooter and the Derbi GPR motorbike, a 50 cc sports motorbike.
