Wideframes include the early Vespa models Vespa 125 V1-33/VM/VN and 150 VL/VB1/VD/VGL1. Originally, these vehicles are only suitable for long distances to a limited extent - a common solution is to convert them to a PX or T5 Engine. This provides electronic Ignition, low maintenance and high cruising and top speeds with a possible output of up to 20-30 hp. This 10" to 8" Drum Brake Conversion Kit is available so that the installed PX engine matches the 8" wideframe look.

When converting to a PX Engine, minor adjustments may be required to the Frame (carburetor area), the Side Panels and, for Cylinders over 125 cc, the area below the Cylinder Head at exhaust height, depending on the model. An adaptor for the Engine Swing Arm Pivot is also required, as is the conversion of the electrics to a low-maintenance electric 12V Ignition (conversion wiring harness, brake/light switch, Voltage Regulator). The upper Shock Absorber Adapter positions the PX shock absorber in the wideframe. M10 nuts are required for rim mounting (item no. 87193000).
