Luigi – a small-frame enthusiast with heart and skill

Born in Sardinia, Luigi came into contact with Vespas at an early age – he had his first experiences at 13, and by 14 he was already riding small-frame models. His passion for these little classics has remained: he has overhauled and perfected countless engines since then.

As a qualified mechanic who learnt the trade from the ground up, Luigi combines technical expertise with genuine dedication. His custom bike, fitted with a Falc 153cc Evolution Cylinder, delivers an impressive 32 PS, whilst a second custom bike, with 25 PS, serves as a reliable touring machine. His fleet includes further small-frame bikes, including PK models – for Luigi, tinkering with bikes is more than just a hobby; it’s his passion.

Sven – Small-frame expert and all-rounder

Sven is our versatile all-rounder, particularly skilled in the field of small-frame scooters. His passion for Gear Pulley scooters is evident in his impressive V50 Special, which he built in 2013 with a Polini 130cc Cylinder and a Parmakit Ignition system. Active since 1999, his two-wheeler journey began in 1996 with an Italjet Formula 50cc.

As a former self-employed Vespa specialist (2007–2015), Sven has been contributing his experience and enthusiasm to our team since 2015 – a knowledgeable point of contact for manual and automatic scooters.

Lukas – a small-frame specialist through and through

Lukas discovered his passion for Vespas in the late 2010s with a 1970 Vespa 50 Rundlicht. After his first rides on a 75cc Formula and a SIP Banana, it soon became clear that he needed more power. With a 144 Quattrini, a 54 mm Long Stroke Crankshaft, a Mamba Exhaust and a Silent Silencer, he has systematically tuned his Vespa for performance.

As a passionate tinkerer, Lukas spends countless hours in the workshop and knows small-frame Vespas inside out. His experience makes him one of our leading specialists in classic Vespas.

Dario – a small-frame enthusiast at heart, with tuning in his blood

Dario’s passion lies in anything that can be made faster – especially small-frame scooters. Whether it’s engine builds or chassis modifications, he knows his stuff, is brimming with ideas and has an excellent network within the Italian scene.

It all started with scooter and moped tuning. Many years spent in the workshop of an Ape specialist made him an expert on 50cc engines. To this day, he continues to impress us with his skills – even away from the workbench, such as with airbrushing.

His heart belongs to small-frame bikes, yet he remains curious about everything else with an Engine. Fancy a chat about the technical side of things with him? You’ll find Dario exclusively at the SIP Store – mainly on Saturdays.

Ruben – a rising star with racing ambitions

In 2019, Ruben started with screws on mopeds. Today, he rides a Vespa Special fitted with a 150cc M1L Quattrini Cylinder, which delivers an impressive 26 PS at the rear wheel. He made his debut in the European Scooter Challenge (ESC) in 2024, where he finished second in the final race of the beginners’ class. Next season, he’ll be competing in the K5 standard class.

Despite his young age, Ruben has an impressive knowledge of small-frame scooters. His quick grasp of the subject and close interaction with other racers have made him a true expert – a great asset to our team.

Jonah – right at home on the shop floor, inspiring enthusiasm for small-frame bikes

Whether you’re looking for the right kit or planning your next DIY project, Jonah’s happy to help. At the SIP Store, he helps with sales on the shop floor and is also on hand at the SIP counter to offer advice and assistance.

Smallframes are particularly close to his heart. He has several of them in his garage, and he’s already built various engine projects and restored a number of vehicles. So his tips come straight from his own hands-on experience – from engine builds to restorations.

Nico – Two-wheeler expert and veteran of the scene

Nico, rider of the legendary ‘FlaminGos’, is a familiar face on the scooter scene. A passionate mechanic since 1996 and former owner of a scooter shop in Freiburg, he brings invaluable experience to our technical support team as a master craftsman in two-wheelers.

Whether it’s classic scooters like the Vespa and Lambretta or modern Vespas – Nico’s expertise is wide-ranging. His experience from drag races and countless engine repairs makes him a highly competent point of contact. And even if he sometimes says, ‘A crankcase is a wear part’, he remains a colleague with a heart – or as he puts it himself: one of you.

Max – an expert in classic Vespas

Max has been with the company for over 15 years – and, like many of us, has turned his hobby into a career. By the age of 15, he already owned two roadworthy PX models, both 80cc with 135-DR cylinders, and has been tinkering with all kinds of classic scooters ever since. His Malossi 221 MHR with a Reed Valve delivers around 30 PS, combined with a SIP Performance Racing Exhaust.

His collection includes gems such as a VM1, an Acma, a V56, a T4 from Augsburg, a 125 TS, a 200 Rally, a V50 Special and another PX 200. With his 40 m² workshop, Max has fulfilled a dream – his own private realm for classic Vespas, where he also enjoys welcoming colleagues for a beer. Whether it’s electrics, engine mechanics, chassis work or customisation: Max is an all-rounder with in-depth expertise – and an indispensable member of our team.

Angelo – Vespa and Ciao specialist

Angelo’s journey into the world of two-wheelers began when he was just eight years old – with a moped as a birthday present. At 10, he set about tinkering with his brother’s 50cc Special. His journey in the world of two-wheelers reads like a classic: mopeds, Ciao, Superbravo, Herkules – always age-appropriate. The turning point came when a PX fell into his hands and his passion was finally ignited. Typical of the 90s: Garelli mudguard conversion, Malossi Cylinder, right-hand drive – Angelo has experienced it all.

Today, he’s our specialist in cylinder tuning, carburettor technology, electrics and restoration. As well as the Vespa, he’s also passionate about the Piaggio Ciao and other classic two-wheelers, to which he feels just as deeply connected.

Roger – Master mechanic and specialist in tuning and restoration

In the late 1990s, Roger first made a name for himself on the scooter scene – with the ‘Beck’s Roller’, a heavily modified small-frame scooter featuring an extended Frame and a T5 conversion on a small-frame engine block. With 24 PS at the rear wheel, this project was ahead of its time and provided plenty of talking points within the scene. Privately, Roger owns an impressive collection of small- and large-frame models, which he maintains with great dedication in his workshop.

As a qualified master mechanic, he brings a wealth of specialist knowledge to the table and is a sought-after point of contact for our customers, particularly when it comes to tricky cases. His strengths lie in cross-model tuning and restoration. With his ability to tailor bespoke solutions to the requirements and needs of each conversion, he makes even the most challenging projects a reality.

Christoph – a master technician with a passion for customisation

At the age of 15, Christoph bought his first Primavera 125 and was an active member of the scooter club scene around Lake Ammersee in the 1990s. Today, he switches between different Vespa models depending on his interests – and also rides a motorbike.

As a master motor vehicle technician, Christoph brings many years of experience to the table. Before joining us in 2018, he was a workshop manager in motorbike development. His area of expertise spans all vehicle classes: Modern Vespa, Lambretta, large-frame and small-frame models. He has particularly in-depth expertise in the areas of chassis, brakes, carburettor technology and custom conversions. Anyone planning conversions involving aftermarket engines, specialised chassis or other bespoke modifications will find Christoph the perfect person to turn to.

Enzo – expert customer advice

Enzo is one of our Largeframe specialists at the SIP Store. However, his knowledge extends far beyond the Vespa: he has been passionate about engines and technology since his early youth. As well as Vespas and motorbikes, he is also interested in the motoring scene. He brings this versatility to bear every day in his personalised customer advice. An all-rounder – in the SIP Store and beyond.

Claus – heavy machinery, a great love of scooters

Claus feels as though he’s been riding scooters for as long as he can remember. Professionally, he’s a pro in the off-road scene, riding heavy machinery – his passion for scooters provides a charming contrast to this. It’s been with him for decades.

He knows the Augsburg scooter scene inside out, and the scooter scene knows him. His Vespa PX fits the bill perfectly: quintessentially Augsburg, very much in the style of the 80s and brimming with character.

Oliver – Wideframe expert and restoration specialist

Oliver is our go-to person for all wideframe models. He discovered this passion in the mid-2000s and has been an integral part of our team for over 15 years. In his spare time, he scours Europe’s markets in search of OEM parts and rare vehicles, which he restores with great dedication.

Whether it’s gear linkage, original gaskets or the tiniest differences between Wideframe models – Oliver knows every detail where others would have given up long ago. His enthusiasm for the Faro Basso is also evident in his tuning work. When it comes to knowledge, Oli is our living Google.

Christoph – Modern Vespa specialist and customisation expert

With his extensive expertise in all things 4-stroke engines, Christoph is one of our proven modern Vespa specialists. Whether it’s tuning or complex conversions – he almost always finds the right solution. No wonder he’s a key member of our customisation team.

On projects such as the ‘Something Special’ with a BFA engine, the ‘Pordoi GTS Custom’ or the ‘30 Years of Custom Tribute’ based on a Vespa Primavera, Christoph not only helped develop the modifications but also led the team. Many components now available as standard parts can be traced back to his innovative custom solutions.

Stephan – a GTS rider with practical expertise

Stephan has been part of the SIP team since 2001 and has played a key role in shaping the Modern Vespa range. He has contributed to many Catalogues, introduced new products and manufacturers to the range, and driven forward numerous new developments.

His customised GTS, featuring a Malossi cylinder, V4 head, drivetrain tuning and Pordoi-style parts, demonstrates his passion for modern tuning. Modern Vespa riders benefit from his in-depth practical knowledge and many years of experience. His fleet also includes classic Vespa models such as a PX, a Sprint and a Motovespa TX.

Martin on the GTS course – a Vespa fanatic since the 80s

Martin has been a Vespa enthusiast since the mid-1980s – and with great passion. Having grown up in Diedorf, which was then the German headquarters of Vespa/Piaggio, his enthusiasm for these Italian classics was forged at an early age. He has remained loyal to the scene ever since: in the 90s, he was one of the first riders of an ET4 in Germany and continues to live and breathe his fascination with Vespas to this day.

His garage houses several PX models alongside various GTS and GTV scooters – each one a chapter in his Vespa story. Today, Martin is our Modern Vespa specialist. He combines in-depth technical expertise with genuine passion and loves to test new components and set-ups on long rides with his GTS – practical, authentic and always with an eye for detail.

Sven – classic roots, with an eye for modern Vespas

Sven’s Vespa journey began with classic scooters. Various projects of his own eventually led him to SIP. He’s also had his hands on a Lambretta, various engines and motorbike projects. His passion for screwing things together is no coincidence: his father runs a garage and sparked his interest in everything that rattles and runs from an early age. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Today, Sven combines this experience with his eye for the modern Vespa. His focus at SIP is on modern Vespa product management: he discovers new products, identifies trends and helps expand our range. This also involves creating product listings, maintaining their details and ensuring quality when something isn’t quite right. You’ll often find him in the SIP workshop, where he fits parts for testing and checks their fit.

In the SIP Store, Sven is also on hand to assist you as a sales assistant.
