Selector boxes for the Vespa PX Classic and PX Lusso—essential for smooth gear changes and gears that engage securely.
The Selector Boxes on the PX come in two types: “old PX” and “PX Lusso.” Since drive shafts, Gear Selector Rods, and Selector Boxes were—and still are—often combined in different ways, this can lead to gears slipping. If in doubt, take precise measurements: The lever position in 3rd gear differs by 1.5 mm. An original engine with 7–10 PS may still tolerate such deviations, but a tuned engine usually will not.
- Compatible versions for PX alt and PX Lusso
- Essential for smooth shifting and gears that engage securely
- Available in PREMIUM quality with precise dimensions
- Variants with neutral indicator also available
PIAGGIO sometimes ships Selector Boxes from different manufacturers under the same part number, mixing PX and PX Lusso/T5 models, and delivers them with or without a neutral indicator depending on the batch. We try to correct this as soon as the goods are received. In addition, we carry LML and FA Selector Boxes in our product line to compensate for supply shortages on PIAGGIO’s part. FA stands out for its excellent value for money and high quality.
After an extensive search, we’ve also added a PREMIUM-quality “old PX” Selector Box to our lineup. It conforms to the specified dimensions, offers high build quality, and thus resolves the issue of incorrect lever positions.
The version “with neutral indicator” was installed on PX models for the U.S. and Portugal, as well as on the Cosa 1. It fits seamlessly on all “old PX” or “Lusso” models. There is usually a suitable spot on the vehicle to mount the neutral indicator.
Conclusion: The more the engine is tuned, the more important those crucial 1.5 mm on the Selector Box become.
SIP TIP:
- Use DRT spacers to precisely adjust the Selector Box and further optimize it with a reinforced Spring.
