Shock absorber springs - inexpensive suspension upgrade instead of a completely new Silencer
The Shock Absorber is the central element of the chassis and a safety-relevant component. If it is defective or not designed to suit the driving style, this can lead to unpleasant surprises. Shock Absorbers that are too soft can easily bottom out or cause an unsafe driving experience when cornering or at high speeds.
However, it doesn't always have to be a new Shock Absorber: If the Silencer itself is still working properly, it is often enough to replace the shock absorber spring that has become tired over the years. Springs for Steering Columns (with separate spring/shock absorber system) and for original Shock Absorbers are available in the range.
Standard springs from PIAGGIO or other manufacturers generally correspond to the standard springs installed. Sports springs are harder and are particularly suitable for two-up operation, touring or tuned scooters. SIP Springs lie between STO and standard. STO Springs are an excellent addition, especially on wide and large frame models. Depending on the version, the Springs are phosphated, galvanized, painted or chrome-plated.
Conclusion: A noticeable chassis improvement in the sports version - and easy on the budget.
