Sporty design with a classic look

When a vehicle is moved in a sporty manner, the pointers of instruments such as the rev counter and speedometer usually move in the upper part of the scale. To ensure that this relevant part of the instrument is in the driver's field of vision, the instruments used to be installed slightly rotated in racing cars. The upper part of the scale moved upwards and the pointers were easier for the driver to read during racing. In order to meet this requirement, instruments were later installed in sporty vehicles with the upper part of the scale already at 12 o'clock. This moved the rest position of the hands downwards. This arrangement is often referred to as "hanging pointers". Hanging pointers are thus the classic look for sporty instruments. Since the SIP 160 km/h speedometer was designed for sporty scooters, the hanging pointer is the icing on the cake for a discreetly sporty appearance.

The heart of the speedometer

The heart of every speedometer is its counter. If it is not manufactured precisely, the speedometer will display incorrect values or the pointer will "dance" and be difficult to read. The SIP speedometer is manufactured in a speedometer factory and has an extremely precise counter. The speedometer works very accurately, even after prolonged use. The pointer remains steady and easy to read.
