V-Belt Pulleys: Wear part in the Variomatic
V-Belt Pulleys are wearing parts - similar to Brake Pads, variator rollers and belts. The more kilometers a scooter has run, the greater the abrasion on the V-Belt Pulley. This causes the Belt to wear out more quickly and increases the risk of a tear. As soon as signs of abrasion become visible on the V-Belt Pulley, the V-Belt Pulley should definitely be replaced.
Two different V-Belt Pulleys are available from MALOSSI:
V-Belt Pulley Ventilvar/Ventilvar 2000
Standard replacement pulley, lower weight, more stable than the original, without teeth, usually including Lock Washer.
V-Belt Pulley MHR Ventilvar
Racing V-Belt Pulley, low weight, coated for maximum stability, without teeth, usually including Lock Washer, standard pulley for overrange Variators.
SIP-TIP:
- For racers and sprint tracers, we recommend treating the V-Belt Pulley (movable and fixed half) with fine glass bead blasting. This gives the Belt more grip - but must be repeated for each race day.
