Product description
MALOSSI V-One and VR-One Crankcases for Vespa PX200 Engines – reinforced, high-end casings for touring engines and high-performance tuning setups.
The PX200 engine is the quintessential touring and high-end engine. It serves as the ideal foundation for many large-frame and wide-frame conversions. With a tuned PX200 road engine featuring a MALOSSI Cylinder, Long Stroke Crankshaft, and SIP Road kit, a cruising speed of 110 km/h and a top speed of approximately 125 km/h are easily achievable.
The SIP Team regularly rides long distances on tuned 200cc touring Vespas. Italy, Croatia, or southern France are therefore no longer out-of-reach long-distance Vespa destinations. At the same time, fully tuned Vespa engines from the German-Austrian scene now reach over 40 PS without nitrous oxide. Here, too, the PX200 engine is often the base. The 200 is the premier class of manual-shift Vespas.
- Reinforced crankcases for PX200 engines
- V-One with rotary valve intake, VR-One with diaphragm intake
- Optimized overflow ports for MALOSSI 210 Sport and MHR
- M8 fitting between the housing halves without an Engine Gasket
In addition to the standard crankcase for the Vespa PX200, MALOSSI offers two versions with reinforcement in its lineup: the MALOSSI V-One with rotary slide intake and the MALOSSI VR-One with diaphragm intake.
MALOSSI uses AL Si 7MG aluminum with an appropriate silicon and magnesium content. The material plays a crucial role in the casings, as it combines Corrosion Protection, machinability, dimensional accuracy, and strength.
In terms of design, MALOSSI has provided reinforcement for typical weak points of the original crankcase. These include the area around the Input Shaft, the five-bolt Fitting for the crankshaft case, the Swing Arm, and the Shock Absorber Seating. In addition, extra material has been intentionally added to key areas, such as the engine sealing surfaces, the overflow ports on the alternator side, and the cylinder base.
Sturdy Connection of the Crankcase Halves
An important innovation is the fitting of the engine halves. While original engines are assembled with M7 screws and nuts, the MALOSSI One crankcases are fitted to the larger engine half using M8 Allen screws in integrated threads.
This results in a more stable connection between the two halves. MALOSSI does not use the large Engine Gasket here. Instead, a heat-resistant Sealing Compound is used.
Both casings feature a recess for the electric starter. The intake and crankcase have been optimized for improved airflow. The overflow ports are already adapted for the MALOSSI 210 Sport and MALOSSI 210 MHR, respectively. Pre-installed Rubber Engine Mounting Bushs on the Engine and Shock Absorber Seating are included in the package.
MALOSSI V-One
The MALOSSI V-One is a reinforced crankcase with a rotary valve intake. It can be used as a high-quality replacement for an original PX200 casing and is particularly suitable for powerful touring engines based on rotary valve technology.
Technical Features:
- Crankcase with rotary valve intake
- Can be used as a standard replacement
- Without Intake Manifold
- Reinforced design
- M8 Allen screws for motor mounting
- Original bearing dimensions
- Bearing not included
- Cylinder studs and brake bolts pre-installed
MALOSSI VR-One
The MALOSSI VR-One is the version with a diaphragm intake. It is designed for demanding tuners and high-performance engine setups. The diaphragm intake manifold can be rotated 360° and is designed for PHBH 30–34 mm Carburettors.
Technical Features:
- Crankcase with diaphragm intake
- For high-performance tuned engines
- Includes a 360° rotatable diaphragm intake manifold
- For PHBH 30–34 mm carburettors
- Includes 6-valve Reed Valve
- Reinforced design
- M8 Allen screws for engine mounting
- Includes bearings, alternator 25 x 52 x 15 mm / Clutch 25 x 62 x 12 mm
- Cylinder studs and brake bolts pre-assembled
Conclusion: The MALOSSI V-One is the high-quality Disc Valve base for powerful touring engines, while the VR-One with diaphragm intake is the ideal choice for no-compromise performance setups.
These products are a perfect match – SIP TIPS:
- The SIP Road Exhaust and MALOSSI 210 Sport combine to create an excellent touring setup. If you want to ride legally, check out the SIP Legal Kits. For the V-One casing, we recommend the SIP Premium Bearing Set, including Oil Seals.
Note: MALOSSI VR crankcases have a distinctive feature compared to other PX crankcases.
Unlike what is typical for PX engines, there is no idler bearing, roller bearing, or Needle Bearing on the alternator side of the crankshaft. Here, the crankshaft is guided by two fixed bearings—deep-groove ball bearings. Installation instructions can be found in the MALOSSI Instruction Manual.
