Many used Vespa scooters have rust damage or dents on the Legshield. Not only does this look unsightly, but it can also be a safety hazard and result in a failure during a TÜV inspection. In the past, such sheet metal damage had to be laboriously repaired by bodywork specialists. Nowadays, however, replacement panels are available for many scooter models and types of damage.

The top-of-the-line option is the Legshield & Floor Board Repair Sheet. This allows you to perform major repairs and even fix past “Why don’t you cut it down?” mistakes. This saves a lot of body filler, hammering, and welding work. Some of these plates are supplied without struts.

The SIP Legshield & Floor Board Repair Sheet for the Vespa 50-125/PV/ET3 is now available in a thicker gauge. The sheet is 1.0 mm thick and is very easy to install. The version for the Vespa 50 Special still features the slight frame raised section for the Horn Cover on the front fender, but is otherwise identical in design.

Both plates can be installed on all classic small-frame models. Replacement parts include the Mounting Plate for the V50 Special Horn Cover and a Gasket for the Brake Pedal. The hole for the Brake Pedal has been enlarged to 35 mm. This allows for the installation of both round and square Brake Pedals.

When performing repairs, we recommend always installing the entire Legshield rather than replacing only certain sections, as bending can cause variations in width.
