Power testing for all motorbikes and scooters up to 100 PS, on our calibrated Amerschläger P4 dynamometer.
No booking required! Just make sure you arrive in good time: between 4 pm and 6 pm; we can run tests on the dynamometer well into the evening, for as long as necessary.
To take part, your engine must be in working order and you must arrive on time for your appointment. Please ensure there are no sharp edges or potential hazards on the vehicles; pay attention to the Flywheel Cover and ensure there are no live, exposed wires, for example…
A checklist (https://www.sip-scootershop.com/de/account/notepads) listing the components fitted to the vehicle from the SIP online shop makes the test bench staff’s job easier.
The following details will be requested (please have them to hand):
- Chassis number,
- Cylinder manufacturer, type and bore diameter; timing specifications where applicable
- Crankshaft manufacturer, stroke, connecting rod length (if applicable), specification
- Carburettor: manufacturer, type and tuning components: Main Jet, Idle Jet, Mixer Tube, Throttle Slide, main air correction and secondary air correction (if applicable), etc.
- Exhaust system, manufacturer and model, and any identification markings
We offer you various options for testing your scooter on our test bench:
a) Rear-wheel power measurement (M gem): How many PS does your scooter really have? Finally, you can settle arguments with hard facts! You’ll receive the power curve as a colour printout (1 run €35 including warm-up)
b) Exhaust test from our extensive exhaust archive: You don’t want to buy a pig in a poke but would rather know the performance curve beforehand? We have box exhaust systems for many models and from various manufacturers on site for you to try out. Before/after measurement (2 runs) including warm-up, €60 each. The cost of the performance measurement will be credited to you if you buy an Exhaust from stock on the same day!
c) Crankshaft power measurement (M standard): For entry in the vehicle documents. Our graphs are recognised by all well-known testing organisations on behalf of the KBA. Our test bench provides highly accurate measurements and is recalibrated at regular intervals (most recently in May 2024). The current calibration certificate is displayed in the test bench room. (Test run with relevant entries, official printout, Cover and, on request, the diagram sent as a PDF for €69 each).
d) Checking the carburettor setting using our Lambda Sensor: We measure the engine’s exhaust emissions at various throttle positions (full throttle / partial throttle…). The results are displayed graphically as a curve of the lambda value (rich – lean) beneath the power curve. We interpret the curves together and give you tips on tuning the Engine. (Initial measurement including power determination, at least 3 runs with the Lambda Sensor, printouts and PDFs on request; initial measurement €125; each additional measurement on the same day (e.g. after adjusting the jet settings) €75).
The performance diagram may, under certain circumstances, be anonymised and published by SIP.
