The tuning module for E-bikes with YAMAHA PW engines.

The VOLspeed tuning module is suitable for E-bikes with PW-X3 drive, year of manufacture 2022. Due to other sensors, the module is not compatible with:

• YAMAHA MORO 7
• YAMAHA Crosscore RC
• YAMAHA Wabash RT

The functions of the tuning module VOLspeed 3 YAMAHA PW-X3 '22

• Ready for operation immediately after installation and initialises automatically.
• On-off switch via the arrow keys on the display.
• After switching on, the control speed can be freely set in the range of 25 - 45 km/h using the arrow keys. The last value set remains stored.
• The setting is always deactivated after switching on.
• Setting of a "softer guiding" possible (Dynamic Mode). The otherwise very hard control behaviour at the speed limit is thereby significantly dampened.
• Individual activation code can be set (an additional display is required for interface X).
• Correct display of speed, distance, average and maximum speed at all times.
• When tuning is active, the remaining range calculation takes into account not only the battery's state of charge and the selected assistance level, but also the current riding style and battery consumption.
• Correct total mileage even after removing the tuning module, as the kilometres in the motor control are updated by the tuning module.
• Adjustable wheel circumference (+/-10%) to improve the accuracy of the speed and distance display (additional display required for interface X).

Tuning module VOLspeed 3 YAMAHA PW-X3 `22 and the interface X

The following instructions apply only when using the VOLspeed for Yamaha PW-X3 V3 (P/N 1253) together with the Interface X control unit.

With the Interface X, the tuning settings and operating states are indicated by the battery LED indicator. display for the battery. This means that the tuning can be used without a separate display or a smartphone app. An additional display is only required for the optional setting of an individual activation code or an individual wheel circumference. For this, an ANT+ LEV compatible display is required that shows the total kilometre reading in addition to the speed. Successfully tested so far are:

• O-Synce Coachsmart (do not confuse with Coachsmart LEV or GoSwiss Drive)
• Giant Ridedash Plus

There are also smartphone apps with support for ANT+ sensors. In most cases, however, the S the S&C or PWR profile instead of the LEV profile. With these profiles, it is not possible to set the the tuning settings in the app.

Mounting, activating and controlling the VOLspeed tuning module

The tuning module VOLspeed 3 YAMAHA PW-X3 `22 is mounted invisibly on the drive motor from the outside.
