Years and decades of use take their toll. This is especially true for the speedometer lens. Whether it’s yellowed or fogged up from UV rays, scratched by keys, or even cracked or shattered—you can often tell the lens has seen better days.

While patina may be charming elsewhere, the Speedometer needs to be easy to read and function reliably. Once the lens is damaged to the point where water can seep in, its proper functioning can no longer be guaranteed in the long term. That’s why the lens should be replaced in a timely manner.
