MALOSSI Reed Valve Petals - fine tuning for intake, response and speed
Reed Valve Petals are another small but decisive feature in the carburetor accessories sector. In contrast to standard plates made of steel or GRP, tuning plates can also cope with engine speeds above 10,000 rpm due to their composition. These Reed Valve Petals ensure better Engine response and stronger acceleration, especially in the lower speed range. An important advantage over steel plates is their higher tear resistance. This significantly minimizes the risk of major engine damage (Cylinder or Crankshaft defects) due to torn Reed Valve Petals. In addition, fragments of GRP, carbon and carbonite plates are usually simply "swallowed" by the Engine.
Reed Valve Petals from MALOSSI are available in three versions: GRP, carbon and carbonite, each with two to three different thicknesses. This allows the intake timing to be tuned almost endlessly.
Reed Valve Petals GRP
Serve as standard replacement plates and replace metal plates. They have better vibration behavior and make the throttle response significantly more agile even in this simple version.
Reed Valve Petals Carbon/Carbonio
Canvas-bonded carbon plates. The difference to metal, fiberglass and GRP dies lies in the flexibility and lower weight of the material. Carbon plates allow a higher clearance volume, are virtually unbreakable and offer optimum vibration behavior. In addition, MALOSSI offers "Carbonio" dies with a 45° (MHR) and 90° (MHR Team) fabric fiber orientation for some Reed Valve Blocks. The 90° dies allow a larger opening angle. Recommended maintenance interval: at least every 1,000-3,000 km.
Reed Valve Petals Carbonite
MALOSSI carbonite Reed Valve Petals are specially coated fiberglass Reed Valve Petals. The coating maximizes the elongation at break. Compared to carbon plates, they are somewhat slower to vibrate with the same thickness. However, the coating creates a tensile force on one side that causes the Dies to open progressively and close again quickly.
The following generally applies (depending on the vibration behavior and material):
Thinner dies provide better pull and stronger acceleration.
Thicker dies enable higher speeds and therefore a higher top speed.
