Product description

With the ABS models changing the rear rim to an aftermarket one has always been a problem. Often these were issues with the tone wheel. Our bolt-kit SIP does away with that. Fitting the rims of the non-ABS models, such as SIP, ZELINI, or even PIAGGIO now is a breeze. The ABS tone wheel can be fitted to the special internally threaded tyre nuts. Occasionally the ABS sensor may rub on the tone wheel. We include two M5 washers to fit to the bolt between ABS sensor and swingarm to remedy that.

We recommend mounting in a sequence as follows:

  • Fit rim with 5 new rim bolts (bolts with hexagonal head, internal thread) and 5 M8 washers. Tighten them with a torque wrench and pay attention to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Fit the ABS tone wheel to the internal thread of the rim nuts, using the five M5 torx bolts and the five M5 wave washers.
  • Refit the swingarm
  • The distance between the ABS sensor and the tone wheel should be 0.4mm min. If the distance is smaller than that, or if the tone wheel rubs on the sensor, use one or even two of the washers on the bolt that secures the sensor between the swingarm and the sensor to adjust the distance. ATTENTION: The distance between sensor and tone wheel should not be too large, if it is there may be no signal at all.

Our SIP-TIP: Secure the bolts with Loctite (art. no. 14100000).
