DIGITRONIC ECU from MALOSSI with variable ignition timing. Revised maps, rev limit raised by 1,000 rpm and extended control of Ignition, SAS valve and PTC heater for optimized engine performance.
With the new DIGITRONIC ECU, MALOSSI offers a further developed control unit with variable ignition timing. Compared to the original ECU, the ignition maps have been completely revised and the speed limit has been raised by 1,000 rpm. In addition, the DIGITRONIC not only controls the Ignition, but also the maps of the SAS Valve and the PTC heater.
The ignition is adjusted via linear interpolation of a three-dimensional map matrix with 16 interpolation points for the engine speed and 8 interpolation points for the engine temperature. The SAS valve is also controlled via a corresponding map. The secondary air supply in the area of the throttle body helps to compensate for typical non-linearities of carburettor systems, reduce emissions and optimize engine performance under all operating conditions.
Special attention was also paid to the cold start behavior. The ECU controls a PTC heater positioned on the Carburettor, which keeps the fuel in the Float Chamber at a constant temperature and thus improves fuel evaporation at low temperatures. In addition, a strategy for limiting the charging time of the Ignition Coil has been integrated to reduce wear on the 8 mm Spark Plug caused by electrical discharge machining. This limits the discharge energy required at high engine speeds and increasing alternator voltage without impairing engine performance.
Another advantage: the ECU ensures engine operation even when the Battery is weak or missing. The vehicle can be started by Kickstart Lever regardless of the battery status.
