No new holes need to be drilled in the Frame for the SIP Luggage Hook. The original mounting points on the Seat are simply used to attach them, but the Seat can still be fully opened.
The Luggage Hook is hand-bent from 3 mm thick stainless steel sheet in German workmanship and then ground in a trovalizing machine. This gives them a high-quality yet discreet appearance and makes them easy to handle. Sharp edges or pressure points that could cause injury or make the component uneven are thus avoided. There are two versions of the SIP Luggage Hook:
The first version consists of a single bent sheet metal part. This makes it particularly simple and at the same time extremely stable. All you have to do to fit it is loosen the two Screws of the seat bench hinge and then reattach the Luggage Hook under the seat bench hinge. The Hook is slightly tapered towards the top, which makes it more difficult for a suspended Helmet or Bag to fall out, but does not completely prevent it. This version is ideal for anyone who prefers a solution that is as simple and discreet as possible and does not want to carry anything too bulky.
The second version is a Holder for the familiar hinged Luggage Hook with 23 mm hole spacing, as already fitted as standard on some Vespa models. In principle, these hooks can also be attached to other vehicles with two Screws. Until now, however, two additional holes often had to be drilled into the frame, which looks unsightly if the Hook is to be removed later. SIP has therefore developed a bracket to which these Luggage Hook can be attached without having to drill new holes. Just like the first version, the Bracket is fitted to the attachment points of the seat bench hinge. However, the luggage is much better secured against falling out thanks to the hinged hooks. This version is therefore particularly suitable for anyone who wants to transport valuable, heavy or fragile items.
