Overview GENERIC
In 2004, the scooter landscape changed when the family business KSR Group GmbH, founded in Krems/Danube in 1967, launched the Generic brand. With Generic, the European market gained an exclusive scooter manufacturer that relied on the design of KISKA. The Austrian design studio was already familiar to KTM riders, as their vehicles were designed by this studio. Generic quickly established itself as a design-orientated, sporty manufacturer. This gave the scooters and cross motorbikes in the smaller displacement class up to 125cc a successful entry into the scooter world.
GENERIC model history
The most successful model in the 50cc scooter class was the Generic XOR 50, which was available in various versions. The Cracker 50, the X-Enduro 50 and the Ideo 50 were also models that established themselves. The XOR was also available in a 125cc version, while the SOHO and ZION focussed mainly on the city scooter segment. In the cross motorbike segment, the Trigger SM 50 took centre stage, while the Generic Urano was notable in the quad bike segment.
