ZELIONI – A passion for Vespas
The owner of ZELIONI has been a fan of Classic and Modern Vespas for more than twenty years. However, rather than entering the market for replacement parts for vintage Vespas, in 2011 he became a pioneer in high-quality, aluminium-made Frame Parts and accessories for modern Vespas. Initially, he marketed his products via Facebook and Instagram, filling a niche in the market as there were hardly any Replacement Parts of this quality available for Vespa scooters. In Asia, ZELIONI quickly became extremely successful within the custom scene, but lacked access to the European market.
It therefore seems like a stroke of good fortune that Moritz Kohrs, Head of Purchasing at SIP Scootershop, began exploring the market for these parts in 2013. Moritz soon realised that ZELIONI had struck a chord within the scene: “There were, of course, the classic chrome accessories, such as Crash Bars or Luggage Carriers. But there was nothing that made these scooters look modern in any way.”
Moritz Kohrs got in touch with the manufacturer and the scooter enthusiasts hit it off straight away. It marked the beginning of a highly fruitful business relationship and friendship. Yet the whole ZELIONI story was practically born out of necessity, as Moritz explains: “The owner had bought a Modern Vespa and wasn’t at all happy with the look. As he couldn’t find any parts on the market to spruce up his scooter, he thought to himself: ‘Well, I’ll just do it myself then.’”
At first, Moritz had reservations about whether the high-end market segment would be accepted, but after a test order, all his doubts were dispelled.
ZELIONI – High-end accessories
From design to finish, every step is handled entirely in-house by the manufacturer. The products are manufactured in Taiwan, as the country is a world leader in aluminium processing.
The design and manufacture of ZELIONI parts are unique worldwide. CNC milling machines ultimately transform the 3D models into high-quality aluminium products. In hours of meticulous work, even the tiniest grooves are ‘cut’ into the metal to create the stylish look. This is followed by anodising: a finishing process that applies an oxide layer to the aluminium, protecting it from rust and available in either a matt or glossy finish. “You simply have to hold the products in your hand to realise just how high-quality they are,” says Moritz enthusiastically. In the end, SIP Scootershop was so impressed by the ZELIONI parts that it took over exclusive distribution rights for Europe in 2015.

At some point, a trend emerged in the custom scene where enthusiasts began swapping all the silver parts on their scooters for black ones. “Black Is Beautiful!” was the motto. ZELIONI recognised the trend and immediately launched a so-called “Black Edition”, which quickly achieved cult status. The Shock Absorbers from this edition alone are a feast for the eyes and a real head-turner.
But whether it’s Shock Absorbers, flashy Brake Discs or Exhausts featuring the distinctive ‘Z’ branding – ZELIONI stands for style and unmistakable sportiness. The designers and product developers at ZELIONI take suggestions on board. The result is a range of accessories tailored precisely to the wishes of SIP Scootershop’s customers. For example, many accessories for 50cc Modern Vespas were manufactured in close collaboration with our product management team.
