SHINKO - History
The SHINKO Group began in 1946 in Osaka, Japan, with the production of tyres and inner tubes for bicycles. As global motorisation increased, the demands on the company changed, but it took until 1998 for SHINKO to take over the technologies and manufacturing processes of the Yokohama Rubber Company.
Through the merger with the South Korean manufacturer Shin Hung, SHINKO expanded its market presence and share. The research and development department is still based in Japan, while the tyres are produced in South Korea - the perfect combination of modern design and high-quality production. SHINKO tyres meet all international standards and are certified worldwide.
SHINKO expanded and today has subsidiaries in Europe, USA and Australia. According to their own information, they produce over 200,000 tyres per month.

SHINKO's good reputation in the tyre industry has led to contract work for renowned manufacturers. For example, part of the legendary Conti TKC 80 motorbike tyres come from SHINKO's South Korean factories.
With its experience in various disciplines, SHINKO builds scooter tyres for every condition - be it off-road, street, racing or wet. For the Vespa, the SR 550 and SR 723 whitewall tyres have become popular in Germany. The latter is suitable for speeds of up to 150 km/h.
