70's Helmets - A love of our youth
Fabrizio Caoduro, the man behind 70's Helmets, came into contact with helmets at a young age, as he explains: "I loved old helmets. I took them apart, repainted them and put them back together." But first he worked as a classic car body builder and refined his techniques before returning to headgear. Fabrizio simply wants to deal with objects that convey the style of the seventies. He still goes into raptures: "When I see someone at a trade fair with a 70s helmet get off a two-wheeler we painted and come up to me to give me a hug, I understand once again that I don't want to do anything else. Because that gives me more satisfaction than selling 100,000 helmets somewhere."
70's Helmets and SIP Scootershop

In the mid-90s, Alex and Ralf drove to Italy every five weeks with a Sprinter and trailer to buy parts from various dealers. In addition, the two current managing directors of SIP Scootershop bought used Vespas throughout the region. In the process, they not only got to know the Italian culture, but also Fabrizio, who was a member of the Vicenza Vespa Club at the time. At that time, Fabrizio didn't have much to do with helmets; instead, he built and repaired rides for the Luna Parks. That's where his affinity for fibreglass and metal flake comes from.
At some point Fabrizio came into possession of a 70's helmet from Japan and after making a mould, he built helmets for friends and painted them in his very special style. This was the beginning of the 70's Helmets story and around ten years ago Fabrizio really got going and went into business full time. The first factory was set up in the basement of his parents' house, but in the meantime he has a very nice shop in the countryside with attached production facilities.
It didn't stop at making helmets, but Fabrizio expanded his range to include scarves, caps, key rings, wallets, visors and sun visors. He styles helmets and tanks according to customers' personal preferences. For SIP Scootershop, he painted the scooter "Something Special" and "Pordoi GTS". This is how an acquaintance became a close friendship that will continue for many years to come.
"Ralf and Alex are practically part of my family. I've known them since the mid-90s, when they just walked into my workshop. I have experienced all phases of SIP, got to know the different buildings and slept in their houses. Our collaboration is perfect."

70's Helmets at SIP Scootershop
When Fabrizio started with the professional production of helmets, it was of course no question that we would include his stuff in our programme at SIP Scootershop. Whether Metal Flakes, Dirties or the helmets from the Pastello series - we are enthusiastic about the creations from Italy. And so are our customers, of course. It's hard to recommend individual products, so it's best to just have a look around online or in our flagship store in Landsberg.
