We build a Lambretta Engine

Created by Dietrich Limper at 10:26 on July 30, 2025

After realising that Netflix, Prime and the like only broadcast uninspired and boring films and series, we decided to enter the world of Saturday evening entertainment with SIP Scootershop TV. And what could inspire a Lambretta-enthusiastic viewer more in a feature-length format than detailed instructions on how to build a Lambretta Engine? And who better to do that than our Mr Lambretta Jesco?

Every Screw and Sensible Updates

Seriously, we have set ourselves the big goal of producing a video that is as complete as possible on how to build a Lambretta Engine. All work steps are shown in an understandable and comprehensible way. In addition, we explain which parts are "state of the art" today to make the Engine more reliable and easier to maintain. Common tuning options for a reliable road engine are also shown. But the best thing is that we have enlisted the support of two of the world's best-known Lambretta experts. Micky and Lorenzo from the Rimini Lambretta Centre show us their very personal tricks and tips for Screws, rebuilding and tuning a Lambretta Engine.

A short route to chapters and information

To make it easier to find your way around the video and get quick answers to questions or problems with Screws, there is a table of contents below the video. You can click on the individual chapters, which are named after the components they deal with. It is therefore not always necessary to watch the whole video in Saturday evening format to get to a particular piece of information - even if it is a lot of fun.

All parts at a glance

If you would like to try your hand at such an assembly yourself, you can find a complete list of the components used in the video here:

But before we go into any more detail and recount this masterpiece of craftsmanship, we'd rather let the moving pictures do the talking. Sit back, open a beer, nibble some savoury biscuits - and let yourself be fascinated and inspired by around 90 minutes of engine building. We wish you good entertainment!
