The 14th edition of the Giro Vespistico dei Tre Mari took place from 4 to 7 September 2025 - a legendary Vespa event that is deeply embedded in the history of the brand and Italian Vespa culture. The event is a tribute to the famous "Tre Mari" tours of the 1950s and 60s, which first took place in 1953 and continued until 1965. After a 56-year break, the tradition was revived in 2021. Since then, Vespisti from all over Italy and Europe have come together every two years to experience an unforgettable tour on historic and modern scooters.
This year, the event was organised by the Vespa Club Ceglie Messapica under the direction of Giuseppe Nacci and Antonio Curri - with the support of the Vespa Club d'Italia and the municipalities of Ceglie Messapica and Campobasso. Around 100 teams from Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg set off on the 1,150 kilometre journey through the regions of Molise, Basilicata, Apulia and Campania.
Starting signal in Campobasso
On the afternoon of 4 September, the participants met at the Centrum Palace Hotel in Campobasso. The team briefing took place here before the first stamp check by the Vespa Club Campobasso at 8 Clock the next morning. Then it was off on the first stage to Melfi (144 km). There, the local Vespa Club awaited the riders with skill tests and refreshments.
The route continued via Gioia del Colle, where regional specialities such as mozzarella, taralli and melons were sampled, to Putignano for the next stamp check. After a total of 192 kilometres, the participants reached Selva di Fasano, where the day ended with a skills course and dinner together at the Hotel Sierra Silvana.
On the Vespa from the Adriatic to the Ionian Sea
The second stage began early in the morning of 6 September. The caravan travelled via Locorotondo and Martina Franca to Ceglie Messapica, where the participants were able to sample the traditional "Biscotto di Ceglie" - a sweet speciality sponsored by Bar Centrale.
After passing through the baroque historic centre, the tour continued to the Adriatic Sea to Brindisi, then to the Ionian Sea to Taranto, where the Vespa Club Taranto welcomed the riders with the typical panzerotti.
A highlight of the day was the stopover in Matera with its world-famous Sassi cave dwellings. A skills course and a short tour of the town awaited the riders there, before the stage ended in Atena Lucana with dinner and an overnight stay at the Kristall Palace and Acteon Palace hotels.
The finale: Tyrrhenian Sea and 380 kilometres of adventure
On 7 September, the longest and most challenging stage lay ahead: 380 kilometres from the mountains to the Tyrrhenian Sea.
In Sapri, the participants finally reached the third sea of this tour. In Santa Maria di Castellabate, the Vespa Club welcomed the group with a hearty snack. The route then led to Paestum, where skill tests and lunch at the pizzeria "Il Tempio" were once again on the programme.
The tour finally returned to Campobasso via Salerno and Benevento. There, the Vespa Club put the final stamp on the town, officially ending the 14th edition of the Giro Vespistico dei Tre Mari.
Thrilling competition and exciting ranking list
The entire tour was not just about riding, but also about fighting hard for points. Each stage brought new lead changes and exciting rankings. In the end, Gabriele Cagni (Vespa Club Montecchio Emilia) came out on top - he won three stages and thus secured the overall victory.

Tradition and emotion
Each stage was dedicated to a historical Vespa personality - including the "Tre Mari" inventors Renato Tassinari and Renzo Castagneto as well as famous riders from the 1950s such as Giuseppe Cau, known as the "Cavaliere della Vespa". This combination of past and present gave the tour a special emotional depth.
The participants not only experienced sporting challenges, but also the beauty of southern Italy: green hills, historic towns, three different seas and the warm hospitality of the Vespa clubs along the route.
An event full of passion
Four days full of passion, community and adventure made the 14th edition of the Giro Vespistico dei Tre Mari an unforgettable experience. Leonardo Pilati, President of the Vespa Club d'Italia, and Vincenzo Vitrioli, Sports Director of the Club, presented the trophies and honours at the closing evening ceremony.
