Scooter enthusiasts from all over the world made the pilgrimage to Ried im Innkreis last weekend. And with good reason. After all, there was a lot to see at the custom show in the Energie Ried Halle. From beautiful original vehicles and unusual tuning ideas to truly spectacular conversions, there was something for every visitor.
In addition to the actual exhibition, the exhibition hall not only had a dealer arena where you could finally see and touch a whole range of new parts, but also a colourful parts market for all bargain hunters.
Despite the almost 1500 visitors, the venue was fortunately large enough for everyone to have enough space to view the almost 170 scooters on display at their leisure. And it was worth it, because on closer inspection, there were also plenty of details to discover on our latest custom project 'Glorious Basterd', which came top in the 'Best Vespa' category.
The appeal of the Basterd lies precisely in seeing 'mismatched' parts in perfect harmony. The impressively painted scooter in the style of the 125cc Sei Giorni is an absolute eye-catcher, from the customised Shock Absorbers and the new SIP Performance digital speedometer in the dropped sprint handlebars to the conversion of the GTS suspension to 12", which also scores points for its inner values with the RS Performance Curley Exhaust, 35mm Mikuni Carburettor and a 172cc Quattrini Racing Cylinder.
A special highlight of the custom show was certainly the acrobatics demonstration by the Oldtimerfreunde München, which could be marvelled at in the afternoon on the outdoor area. The Allnighter, which took place in the WOMM discotheque in Connection with the Customshow, was also an absolute hit with visitors.
Congratulations to the other winners (e.g: Mike - 'Best of All' for his Depeche Mode and Wolfi - 'Best Paint' for Project HRG) and a big thank you to all the organisers and interested visitors. We look forward to seeing you all again next year at the Jetsons Customshow 2011 in Munich.

Stephan Hufschmid has been part of the SIP Scootershop team since 2001 and, as Sales Manager, is now responsible for the organisation of the sales channels and teamwork. In addition to sales, store and quality management, he is also responsible for MALOSSI brand management in Germany. His heart beats especially for modern Vespa models - his garage is well stocked with a lovingly tuned GTS 300, a German Sprint 150 and a Spanish TX (all with Malossi upgrades, of course).
