Tachometer/Speedometer SIP for Modern Vespa

Created by Ralf Jodl at 17:11 on November 14, 2016

The SIP speedometer / rev counter replaces the standard, very sparsely equipped speedometer with a real multifunctional device. The speedometer impresses with its large analogue display for speed (up to 160kmh) and rpm (up to 16,000 rpm). The speedometer needle thus shows either revolutions per minute or speed.

The lower digital display can show a choice of 18 functions. These can be switched at the touch of a button. In addition to the standard functions such as analogue / digital speed display, trip & total kilometres, temperature, the speedometer has an analogue & digital rev counter, digital fuel and temperature display, accelerometer for distance and speed measurement, average speed and many other features (see function list).

The backlight can be selected from eight different colours. The brightness can also be adjusted separately. Before each restart, the instrument performs a complete self-test.

The speed is measured as originally via the speedometer cable or can be transmitted via a digital speed sensor. The appropriate sensors are available as accessories.

A set of cables for connection to the vehicle is included in the scope of delivery. This is connected between the speedometer and the wiring harness. Everything without soldering, simple and uncomplicated.

Mounting instruction:

for Vespa GT/GT L 125/200cc/GTS 125: The speedometer cable of the newer GTS models must be fitted. Item no. PI56306R. Alternatively, a digital speed sensor can be fitted. (part no. KOBF640J06)

for Vespa GTS/GTS Super 125-300cc `14-: The rear handlebar fairing of the earlier GTS models must be fitted (part no. PI652682). The switch fittings for lights, horn etc. can still be used. Only the "Mode" button is omitted. An ABS display is also integrated in the SIP speedometer / rev counter.

for Vespa GTS 125-300cc 2014 Euro 4: Due to the modified handlebar fairing, the speedometer cannot be mounted on this model.

Check the exact vehicle model before ordering. The connections of the different model series differ. If you are unsure please please note the following document!
