SIP Scootershop Grand Opening May 2016

“Salvatore, very important, make sure we've enough to drink-its going to be a scorcher! And please bring enough people to pull your sensational pizzas out of the oven on your Pizza Ape-have you ordered the salsicia and the shrimp shish kebabs?" Salve grinned and nodded “Don't you worry, everything will be great!”

And so it was!

1400, in words, fourteen hundred of the most curious visited our brand new Headquarters on the Marie Curie Street in Landsberg am Lech last Saturday. The reason? We here at SIP Scootershop are celebrating our grand reopening with a bang! Our old premises, which are about one kilometre away as the crow flies, have been replaced by a new larger, better premises. We also had great luck with the weather and the open day celebrations could take place on the warmest day of the year so far. Apart from the regular guided trips throughout the 4500 sq m. large hall, exciting dyno testing, a parts fair, diverse small stands (such as the 'Vesbar' from Munich, the 'Wespe' scooter magazine and the Vespa club of Munich), were also present to keep the over 1400 guests interested and amused.

To make sure of a suitable sound track for the party DJ's Leo Ernst and Benne were doing their duty on the wheels of steel. The founders of the firm, Alex Barth and Ralf Jodl, were congratulated over the by many exotic visitors from places as far away as Russia, France, Italy, Vietnam and even India for the success of their business. An object that they can most rightly be proud of. The raw elements concrete, steel, wood, rusty and raw steel have been style fully arranged by the 'OTT Architects', from nearby Augsburg, as decorative art that does not end traditionally behind the shops counter. The piece stretches right through the development offices, over the call centre area, acquisitions, accounting, the communal kitchen and the wash-room. All seemingly from one mould. A further sign of our progress, apart from the tasteful decoration, is the paperless commissioning system. Our busy staff, armed with brand new tablet computers, put together the customer orders in three shifts from our stock of over 24,000 separate scooter orientated items. The sorting and packing now takes place in eight different dispatch areas.

Our aim is to be able to process the orders we receive through the web-site or our multi-lingual call centre staff within one to two hours and be able to dispatch the goods the same day, using either DHL, UPS or FedEx, which can be chosen by the customer themselves. The shop, which was set-up along the lines of a factory outlet, stocks a large selection of functional riding clothing along with an unusually large choice of open-face crash helmets on offer produced by Bandit, Bell, DMD, Premier and 70's Helmets. The smaller visitors were also well catered for with a (well secured) bouncy castle, face painting artists and free-floating balloons. Salvatores 'Siperia' also successfully managed his baptism of fire and the Italian coffee bar is now a permanent feature and the products are now available all week (during shop opening times) for all of our visitors to our new premises to be able to enjoy Pizza and Pasta, Dolce, Cappuccino and so on... Here are our pictures on flickr of this event.

All in all a wonderful new beginning into a new era with an energetic staff that the hosts of the event can truly be proud of!
