Scooter enthusiasts on the road on a thanksgiving pilgrimage
With rattling engines, shiny chrome parts and a large portion of enthusiasm, numerous scooter riders met on Saturday, 13 September 2025 for the second SIP Scootershop thanksgiving scooter pilgrimage.
The participants met in the morning at Siperia, the SIP Scootershop café. There was a convivial atmosphere over cappuccino and croissants before Father Florian Markter blessed the scooters and their riders. "If you love your Vespa, you have to look after it, clean it and maintain it. It's the same with our relationship with God," said Florian Markter to the participants.
Cohesion, enthusiasm and gratitude
With this special refreshment, the colourful mix of Vespas set off through the Fuchstal valley into the Alpine foothills. The destination was the Auerberg, where the group was welcomed with Aperitivo and finger food at the Panoramagasthof. This was followed by a solemn thanksgiving service in the pilgrimage church of St George against an impressive backdrop. It was a reminder that the passion for scooter riding is not just a hobby, but also a reason for gratitude and fellowship.
"People have been making pilgrimages to this mountain for hundreds of years to bring their worries and thanks to God. And that's exactly what we do here," says Alexander Barth, Managing Director of SIP.
Despite mixed forecasts, the trip took place in glorious weather. The sun played along: In late summer weather, the participants on their 100 or so Vespa scooters, some of them historic, enjoyed the ride as much as the company.
Organiser and host SIP Scootershop, which has been firmly rooted in Landsberg for 31 years, was delighted with the positive response. "Our hobby and our work connect us with people all over the world, while others are at war. This is a gift that we must always be aware of," said the company.
This made the Thanksgiving Scooter Pilgrimage 2025 not only a ride through the scenic region, but also an impressive symbol of solidarity, enthusiasm and gratitude.
