ScooterLiada 2025 - Meeting for classic Vespas and Lambrettas

Created by Dietrich Limper at 08:52 on September 17, 2025

Javier writes to us: "As you may already know, we at Liadas Scooter Club (Asturias, Spain) are passionate about riding our scooters. This attitude to life fitted perfectly with the event last Saturday, 23 August, at ScooterLiada 2025, which was attended by 85 like-minded people.

The ScooterLiada was launched 15 years ago and stands for a relaxed, cosy day celebrating the classics. The event is open to scooters from before 1990 - mainly Vespas and Lambrettas. However, this does not mean that more modern, automatic scooters are rejected. Many participants own and ride these more comfortable and faster models themselves. We are simply celebrating the classics on this day, without devaluing other scooters or their riders. There is a suitable place for every two-wheeler - here the old treasures take centre stage.

Pure joy on a Vespa or Lambretta

The route covered around 100 kilometres of small country roads, uphill and downhill, through pretty villages - sometimes so narrow that even some Side Car bikes had to be left behind.

The group was led by a Lambretta Li150 Series 3 Special with electric start - after all, the organiser knew where to go. They were followed by GS Vespas and other models from Series 2 onwards. Most of the scooters were in original condition, but they all had one thing in common: the riders enjoyed every minute on the road.

And that's exactly what it's all about: the beautiful Asturian countryside, winding roads with breathtaking views, a perfectly planned route with no disruptive traffic and, of course, lots of scooters of a similar model year, ridden by people who all share the same passion.

Around 60 scooters set off from the quiet Plaza Europa in Piedras Blancas (Castrillón). At ScooterLiada, it's not big numbers that count, but quality: from rusty finds to detailed complete restorations and lovingly personalised conversions - mainly Vespas, supplemented by a handful of Lambrettas.

The day was all about the pure joy of riding a scooter. Participants came from all corners of Asturias as well as from the neighbouring regions of Cantabria, Orense, Lugo, Pontevedra, Valladolid and Palencia. Luckily, there was no rain this year either - perfect weather for an unforgettable event.
