European Parliament visits SIP Scootershop
As part of his summer tour, Christian Doleschal, MEP and Chairman of the Junge Union Bayern, visited us on 2 August 2023. Among others, they were joined by the member of the state parliament Alex Dorow, the JU district chairman Marian Cammerer and assessor Lukas Besel. They were given a tour by our CEOs Alex and Ralf and were allowed to look behind the scenes of SIP Scootershop.

Anecdotes, photovoltaics and the petition
The entrepreneurs gave an insight into the philosophy behind the combination of mail order, product development, flagship store and affiliated siperia under one roof. German bureaucracy, European regulations, supply chains and rising costs were also addressed. The history of the SIP Scootershop was entertaining, as the beginnings in the cellar and garage of the parents' house provided plenty of material for anecdotes.
Things got more serious when it came to the topic of photovoltaics, because we at SIP Scootershop are currently experiencing scenarios that would definitely fit into the famous Schilda. For example, we could feed a lot of electricity into the local grid through our system, but the infrastructure of the public utility company is already at its limit. The expansion of photovoltaics is supposed to triple, we can only use a third of the possible roof area, perspective for the future: none.
Our petition to the German Bundestag to raise the maximum permissible speed for mopeds with a capacity of up to 50 cc or for e-scooters from 45 to 60 km and to make this class of vehicle attractive again is currently hanging in the air. We have collected well over 50,000 signatures, but no elected official can be found who is willing to accept them. The member of parliament for the Landsberg district, Michael Kießling (CSU), refuses to hand them over personally upon request. It would have a purely symbolic character. The visitors understood the problem, but could not offer any concrete help.
A pizza dinner at SIPERIA rounded off the visit of MEP Christian Doleschal. We were very pleased about the interest in our company.
