7th Lippstadt Vespa Meeting

Summer is traditionally the perfect time for Vespa and Lambretta enthusiasts to meet up. Although the sun may be disappearing behind dark clouds all over Europe at the moment, the Vespisti are not letting this stop them from going on their tours and excursions undaunted. This was also the case for the Vespa Club Lippstadt, which held its 7th meeting from 5 to 7 July to celebrate its 22nd birthday. SIP Scootershop was delighted to be involved as a sponsor. The 1st chairman Dirk Kubenke has now sent us a large number of photos and a nice report. We don't want to withhold either from you. With the Vespa through Hoinkhausen

The 7th Lippstadt Vespa meeting was actually supposed to take place in 2020, but four years ago the coronavirus put a spanner in the works. In recent years, we have only held one-day events, but now we had to organise a long weekend again.

We chose the sports ground in Horn, about 12 kilometres from Lippstadt, as the venue. There was enough space for all the tents, and those who had travelled with camper vans or caravans also found plenty of parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast the week before did not give much hope for a sunny meeting, but the closer Friday came, the lower the rain forecast was.

On Friday evening, the area was relatively full. The Grill was fired up for refreshments and there were sausages and steaks. It wasn't until around 3 o'clock in the morning that it became quiet on the site and all the guests were in their beds.

On Saturday, more and more guests arrived at the same time as breakfast, so that there were just over 100 people. In addition, many spontaneous visitors turned up who wanted to join the excursion. The ride started at 12 Clock and took the 70 or so Vespas through the nearby foothills of the Sauerland, covering almost 50 kilometres through world-famous places such as Hoinkhausen, Herringsen and Schmerlecke 😉

After returning to the event venue, we had coffee and cake. Shortly afterwards, the rain set in, which fortunately only lasted an hour. At the same time, the VCVD started a run for the German tournament championship in the car park next door, in which several inexperienced riders also took part and had fun.

Once the award ceremony for the competition and the prizes for the most beautiful vehicles had been awarded, the buffet was opened and then the Vesparty was celebrated with an open end.

After all the guests had left on Sunday and everything had been restored to its original state, the Vespa Club Lippstadt was able to look back on a successful and entertaining meeting, which was certainly not the last of its kind.
