Sometimes a small cause can have a big effect. This is especially true for the older technology found in Gear Pulleys. It’s no secret that cables play a major role in their operation. Hardly any other vehicle is operated with cables as long and as awkwardly routed as those on classic Vespa and Lambretta scooters. This results in an indirect feel during operation and increases the force required to operate the controls. If the system is well-maintained and essentially in its original condition, experienced scooter riders don’t find this to be a major problem. Nevertheless, the feel and the force required cannot be compared to those of modern vehicles. In the end, even we didn’t expect the level of improvement we achieved compared to products currently on the market. The SIP PERFORMANCE cables exceed our initial expectations. They can dramatically improve the braking performance of an aging Drum Brake—an important safety factor in everyday use. The shift lever is easier to operate and requires less travel. The Clutch is also easier to modulate, requires less force, and the lever travel is reduced. The throttle cable glides smoothly and precisely, which is particularly advantageous for returning the Throttle Grip to its original position.
