A good everyday and touring engine requires not only high reliability but, above all, a smooth and enjoyable power delivery. That’s why the SIP PERFORMANCE 177 doesn’t just deliver in the low or high RPM ranges—it offers particularly strong performance across a broad range.

Technical Features

The cylinder is supplied with fuel-air mixture via six transfer ports. Exhaust gases escape through a single exhaust port, which leads to a bolted-on steel Exhaust Manifold Stub. The coated piston has a diameter of 63 mm and features two 1 mm-thick Piston Rings. The head is secured with eight fittings and is equipped with an O-Ring gasket.

Can be fitted to 2- and 3-channel Engines

The Cylinder is always installed with a 4 mm thick Spacer between the Cylinder and the Crankcase. Two different Spacers are included in the kit: one for mounting on a 3-channel casing, the other for 2-channel casings. In addition, paper gaskets of different thicknesses are included for both types of housing, which can be used to adjust the height of the Cylinder.

In principle, the cylinder is also compatible with Elestart. However, due to tolerances, it may be necessary to re-grind the cylinder slightly in the area of the gear teeth.

Installation Recommendations:

• Spark Plug: NGK B9ES; BOSCH W3CC
• Ignition timing: 19° before TDC
• Main Jet: 110–118
• Compression edge: 1.4 mm
