The Speedometer/Rev Counter 2.0 from SIP PERFORMANCE is a modern instrument cluster for classic Vespa and Lambretta models. Since their introduction in 2010, SIP Rev Counters have revolutionized the speedometer market. Features that were previously only possible with multiple additional instruments were combined into a single unit—all with the utmost understated elegance.
In collaboration with KOSO, the next generation was developed: the SIP 2.0 Speedometer/Rev Counter.

Inspired by the classic look
The new design is also heavily inspired by the original speedometers. The additional functions remain virtually invisible as long as the engine is not running. The font and position of the km/h display on the Face Plate largely match the original. The mounting dimensions are also based on the stock speedometer.
Installation is very simple. Speed can be measured either via the original Speedometer Cable or via an electronic Speed Sensor. These Sensors are available as Replacement Parts and replace the maintenance-prone Speedometer Cable along with its mechanical stresses.
Independent of Battery and Ignition Manufacturer
The speedometer requires a 12-volt vehicle power supply, but a battery is not necessary. The included black box operates on both DC and AC current. All data is reliably backed up by an internal memory.
It does not matter which 12-volt Ignition system is installed. The Speedometer/Rev Counter 2.0 is compatible with all common Ignition systems such as SIP VAPE, PARMAKIT, POLINI, and many others.
When used with the SIP PERFORMANCE Ignition system by VAPE, either the KOSO signal filter must be used for RPM reduction with the DC version, or the brown wire from the SIP Rev Counter must be connected to the white wire of the SIP/VAPE CDI. The ignition pulse on the Speedometer must then be set to “1” for DC and to “6” for AC.
Adjustments and switching between displays are easily managed via a small Press Button that can be discreetly installed. For many vehicle models, modified Light Switches with an integrated Press Button are available. This eliminates the need for the included Press Button and preserves the scooter’s original appearance.
A little extra feature: When starting up, the Rev Counter performs a self-test, giving you a hint of that Grand Prix feeling.
The Upgrades in Detail
On the 2.0 model, you can choose between an analog speed or RPM display. The speedometer needle thus shows either RPM or speed.
For longer trips, two separate trip meters with travel time and average speed are available. This allows you to track daily and trip distances separately. The total distance can also be adjusted, and kilometers already traveled with the old Speedometer can be carried over.
When paired with the SIP Fast Flow Fuel Tap with reserve indicator, even older model years can now benefit from a Fuel Gauge. When fuel is running low, “FUEL” flashes as an indicator. Additionally, the surge protection has received further reinforcement.
The Right Design
Depending on the vehicle model, various dial colors are available. The VBB version, for example, is also available in beige/white, which closely resembles an original Speedometer faded by the sun. For a sporty look, the carbon-look option is ideal—modern, striking, and perfect for performance setups.
Note: Be sure to use a Spark Plug and Spark Plug Cap with built-in interference suppression. The Blackbox should not be installed in tight Handlebars, as heat buildup there can cause malfunctions.
