The Swiss-made pull starter is designed for the highest loads and has proven itself in racing. The ready-to-fit Starter Cable is suitable for all PIAGGIO CIAO moped / moped models with mono drive. Especially with tuned mopeds for racing, the pedal drive is often replaced by Foot Pegs. To start the vehicle, you can either push start or simply convert to the practical Starter Cable.

Installation:

1. Starter pinion: Clean the mounting surfaces, then screw the counterpart for the Starter Cable onto the Clutch or Variator (secure the enclosed flange nut with Loctite).
2. Starter Cable: Lightly fasten the housing adapter using the motor screws. Then fit the round Casing with the pull starter unit and secure with the enclosed M5 x 45mm Screws. Finally, tighten the motor screws.

Application:

1. Before starting, pull the rope slowly a few times so that the Engine turns over empty (must be done before each start attempt).
2. Pull out the Starter Cable handle until it is fully engaged and encounters resistance. Then pull it through in one go.

Tip: Wear Gloves! Hold the handle firmly.

Note: The pedal mechanism can no longer be operated as the pedal arms would come into contact with the Starter Cable casing. Foot Pegs or a pedal axle extension must therefore be fitted.

Our recommendation - the SIP-TIP:

• To fit the left Side Panel Door, it must be machined. To avoid destroying the beautiful original fairing, we recommend the inexpensive Side Panels Trim from the Replacement Parts range.
• The flange nut on the Crankshaft should be fitted using Loctite Thread Locker .
