The Piaggio Ciao is a lightweight moped from the Italian manufacturer Piaggio, which was produced for several decades from 1967 onwards. It is characterised by its simple technology and slim design, which, in addition to its low weight, also makes it easy to handle. It is powered by a small two-stroke engine (50 cubic centimetres), which can be started using Pedals. Power is usually transmitted via a Belt.
Thanks to its robust design and low maintenance costs, the Piaggio Ciao was particularly popular in Europe. It offered an affordable mobility solution for short journeys, for example in urban areas or in the countryside. The simple, functional concept and the wide range of customisation options made it a popular entry-level model for young riders and a classic among mopeds.
