Product description

Bolt for fixing the rear brake shoes on Vespa Wideframe models from SIP.

This bolt serves as a re-bearing for the brake shoes. Old bolts are often worn in and out.

The bolt is pressed into the rear swing arm of the Wideframe Vespas and can be pressed in and out by heating it with a hot air dryer. In addition to pressing it in, it can be secured with e.g. Loctite 603.

Special features of the SIP pin

The SIP brake shoe mounting bolt is extra-long and has 2 grooves for the Omega clips 87390000. Therefore, both wide and narrow brake shoes can be mounted, i.e. for 127 mm 8" brake drums and for 150 mm 10" brake drums. Piaggio also offered this option for early VBB1 engines, for example, which also had only 1 bolt for brake shoe mounting. This offers a conversion option for 8" brake systems (125 - 127 mm) with 1 receptacle e.g. VM, VN, VL, VB to the brake system of the 10" models (150 mm diameter) GS150 VS1-5, VGL1, etc. It must be converted to 9" SIP rims 8019 or 10" rims of the GS150 and VGL models.
