Special tools for Vespa for damage-free and easy disassembly/assembly of many components.
For many jobs on a Vespa, special tools are required to remove or fit components without damaging them. Many original tools are no longer available, and available alternatives were previously only available in variable quality. SIP has therefore had many of these tools newly produced and in some cases further developed. The high-quality tool steel design, some with surface coating, ensures a precise fit and reliable work.
The SIP Castle Nut Tool is needed to open and close the Castle Nut on the Driveshaft of older Vespa engines. Over the years, Castle Nuts with different tooth geometries have been used. That is why the SIP Castle Nut Tools are designed so that a single tool can be used with various models.
On the Vespa 160 GS/180 SS, the distance between the 9 teeth is 3 or 5 mm, depending on the model. The tool for the Vespa 125 VNA/VNB is suitable for Castle Nuts with both 8 and 9 teeth.
On both sides of the interchangeable tools are pins that engage with the teeth of the Castle Nut. A 1/2" ratchet can be easily attached to the square drive in the center.
Caution: Left-hand thread. Do not use an Impact Wrench. To use the Castle Nut Tool, the Driveshaft must be removed.
Conclusion: A useful specialty tool for restoring older Vespa models and a practical addition to any tool cart.
These products are a perfect fit – SIP TIPS:
- If the teeth of the Castle Nut are worn out or damaged after repeated opening and closing, the Nut must be replaced. Depending on the model, use: GS Part No. 25276300 or VNA/VNB Part Nos. 21104150 and 21104120.
