SIP Road XL T5 Racing Exhaust by SIP PERFORMANCE for Vespa T5 engines – a discreet look with powerful performance.
After years of development, the SIP Road family is finally expanding. Now that the SIP Road has made its mark on the large-frame exhaust market and is considered the quintessential touring exhaust, many classic English racing exhaust systems will have to step up their game. With the SIP Road XL T5, many systems will now be relegated primarily to the role of visual tuning.
- Discreet, original look with high volume
- Double-walled construction with a pleasant sound
- Wide power band and high RPMs
- Plug-and-play installation using the stock mounting points
The SIP Road XL T5 is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Visually, it closely resembles the stock Exhaust, making it pleasantly unobtrusive. Its volume, however, is enormous and rivals that of many resonant Exhaust systems. The exhaust features a double-walled construction: between the inner perforated sheet metal and the outer shell, Silencer Wool ensures low noise levels and a pleasant sound. This keeps the peace in the neighborhood on Sunday afternoons, and there’s no ringing in your ears when you rev the engine.
The power delivery is impressive. The Exhaust provides smooth power across the entire RPM range while still allowing for high RPMs, as is typically found in systems like those from SIP Performance or RZ. This enables powerful passing maneuvers in many riding situations and high top speeds without having to fight the headwind too much.
The SIP Road XL T5 already demonstrates its power boost on engines with more than 12 PS of rear-wheel power. On a test scooter equipped with a MALOSSI 172 and a 24-mm Carburettor, it achieved just under 15.4 PS at the rear wheel. The exhaust should therefore be combined with at least a tuning cylinder so that it can truly unleash its power. It is fitted using bolts at the stock mounting points. 8-inch riders must convert to 10 inches.

SIP TIP:
- The carburetor jet size must be selected at least 5–10 sizes larger. MALOSSI 172, Cosa Clutch, Racing or Long Stroke Crankshaft, and a modified Cylinder Head are recommended. SIP PERFORMANCE Ignition, 30–36 mm diaphragm carburetors, Flowed Crankshaft, etc., push the engine toward the 25-PS limit.
