Product description
Racing Exhaust with a stock look—the evolution of the much-copied original. With the 3.0 version, the understated SIP Road Exhaust unlocks new performance potential.
The SIP Road is the gold standard of box-style exhaust systems. It introduced the concept of a Racing Exhaust based on a box design—modelled after the original exhaust systems of the Vespa Largeframe models—to a broad audience of Vespa riders, where it quickly gained popularity. Particularly appealing are the everyday-friendly power delivery and the ease of tuning engines equipped with the SIP Road 2.0.
In recent years, many box-style racing exhaust systems have been developed, and numerous manufacturers have brought such systems to market. Impressive power and torque figures have been achieved in the process. Some systems now surpass the peak power of the SIP Road 2.0 Box. However, its ease of use, compatibility with any engine configuration, and low-end torque remain unmatched.
- Original look thanks to the full-size box
- Strong torque and perfect suitability for everyday use
- Ideal for plug-and-play tuning setups with the stock Carburettor
Nevertheless, it was time to develop a new box. The requirements were high: It should continue to work on any engine, operate in a low-RPM range suitable for everyday use, deliver at least as much power there as the most powerful boxes on the market, and achieve all of this with a box in its original size.
The new SIP Road 3.0 was also meant to remain unobtrusive and compact. That proved to be the biggest challenge. Many manufacturers use larger boxes because it’s easier to gain power with more volume. Unfortunately, the goals we set also extended the development period. But the result is impressive: a small box that combines well with a wide variety of setups and holds its own against any touring box on the market.
Smooth power delivery in every riding situation
Power kicks in early and builds up over a range that makes the commute to work a breeze and allows you to tackle uphill mountain passes with confidence. The development was based on cylinders such as the MALOSSI Sport or the POLINI. But even a QUATTRINI or PINASCO Racing Cylinder performs excellently with the SIP Road 3.0, combined with an SI Carburettor for minimal modification effort and reliable mechanics.
Modern in Manufacturing and Design
To achieve the performance boost over the SIP Road 2.0, not only did a significant amount of time have to be invested in development, but production also requires a bit more effort. The Exhaust Manifold is not made from individual segments but consists of pressed upper and lower shells. This minimizes tolerances between individual exhaust systems and reduces the number of weld seams that run perpendicular to the direction of exhaust gas flow.
In addition, this allowed us to achieve a tighter radius without any loss of performance. This was necessary to accommodate the larger Exhaust Manifold in such a way that neither the lean angle is restricted nor does the Exhaust come into contact with other components, such as the kickstand.
New Features with Proven Benefits
Significantly more torque and a substantial power boost: On the PX200 with the MALOSSI Sport, depending on the setup, there’s a 2 PS increase compared to the SIP Road 2.0. The situation is similar with the classic setup for the small engines. A 177 POLINI also delivers an increase of approximately 2 PS with the Road 3.0 compared to its predecessor.
This promises a comfortable ride and seamless gear shifts. The sound of the SIP Road is pleasantly understated and not too intrusive—ideal for city riding and everyday cruising.
Please always make sure to adjust the carburetor jet settings and ignition timing during installation.
If Vespa 125 VNA-TS/150 VBA-T4 riders remove the second flap from the Exhaust, they can also ride all SIP Road PX models.
Technical Details
- Significant increase in power and torque compared to the SIP Road 2.0
- Based on the original-size box
- Deep-drawn Exhaust Manifold for precise geometry and improved power delivery
- Precise fit for easy plug-and-play installation
- Tightly routed manifold for full lean-angle freedom

Conclusion: The SIP Road 3.0 is a successful update to the classic exhaust system. It retains the advantages of the 2.0 version while slightly increasing power by about 2 PS. A Racing Exhaust with an original look, featuring an excellent fit, high-quality workmanship, increased power and torque, and heat-resistant paint—all at the best value for the money.
These products are a perfect fit – SIP TIPS:
Note: Due to manufacturing variations, the chrome version may have a slightly less precise fit. It can still be installed, however. It’s best to first position the screw in the Traverse and loosely screw it into the thread of the lock nut. Then slide the Exhaust over the outlet. This requires a bit of force, but it makes installation easier.
