Product description
The box exhaust for every setup, no matter whether it’s around the globe or the daily commute to work. The tuning box icon delivers. Always.
An engine characteristic exactly like the original, as it left the factory. Just better. That’s the real world tuning the SIP Road 2.0 has been standing for ever since it came out, for all Vespa riders, all over the world. The quest for maximum power is not what it is about. Its forte is relaxed riding with constant torque over a wide rev range. And that’s exactly where it reliably excels on any engine setup.
- Significantly more torque and a huge increase in power.
- Five downpipe segments
- Relaxed to ride with and bridges gaps between gears.
The SIP ROAD 2.0 is the original benchmark for all box type exhausts. There may be more powerful pipes today, like the SIP ROAD 3.0, the SIP ROAD 2.0 still excels with its simplicity. It always fits, it always is reliable, it always retains a powerband like the original powerband, and it always is easy to set up the engine with it. Reasons enough to continue it, as an option, even after the launch of the SIP Road 3.0.
Understated sound for the commute to work
The SIP ROAD 2.0 sound is understatement, it does not raise attention. Ideal for the use in towns, and as a daily cruiser. The chrome version is noisier because these pipes have to make do without any muffling material. Muffling simply isn’t possible because the fibres of the material would contaminate the chrome bath, and it would soak up and react with the liquid. On the upside you do get the classy custom look though.
The tourer in OEM quality
Touring and long distances are not a problem for the SIP Road. Its laborious quality does not only show in the number of downpipe segments but also with meticulous welding and the super clean welding seams, and the reinforced fitting on the barrels exhaust flange. All Vespa 125 VNA-TS/150 VBA-T4 riders need only to remove the second tongue of the swingarm fitting to run all SIP Road P-Range pipes.
Conclusion: A racing pipe that looks like the original exhaust, fits like a dream, quality made with class. Power and torque gains, high temperature paint, the best value for money.
The Best Setup – Our SIP-TIP:
- A reliable engine always requires a reliable crankshaft. Best combine the SIP Road with a SIP Premium crankshaft.
- Our SIP Performance ignition ensures a reliable spark and excellent light.
- Nothing is more of a pointless nuisance than a split cable on the morning commute to work. Play it safe and use SIP Performance cables.
SIP ROAD 2.0
Wow, who would have thought it? Our exhaust genius David took on the SIP Road and made the impossible possible. The SIP ROAD 2.0 now offers the elegant feature of being able to be mounted with either Clamps or Springs. Power has been elevated slightly across the entire RPM range. The 125 really pulls nicely in the upper range. The 200cc model even delivers up to 2 PS more than before between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm. Although the Road is already a powerhouse, we were able to further increase its torque. This is particularly noticeable at low and mid-range RPMs.
Feedback from Experts and the Trade Press
“Our test winner in this comparison is the SIP Road in the Sport version, as it clearly leads the pack in terms of torque up to 5,000 rpm and continues to deliver even more power and higher RPM beyond that.”
–SCOOTERZINE, “PX Exhaust Test 2017”
“Power, sound, and the Paint are top-notch. On the 200, shifting from 3rd to 4th gear is no longer a problem. The engine also revs up more freely. The 200cc model puts out 13.9 PS on my stock PX200! With the stock exhaust, it’s 12.5! Impressive! A 10-PS 200cc model had 10.8 PS with the stock Exhaust and 11.9 PS with your Exhaust. With a little carburetor tuning, you can squeeze out a few more horsepower in the 0.… range!”
–Jockey’s Pit Stop, Exhaust Test for SIP, 02/2010
“With a significant improvement in torque (16 lb-ft) and the widest RPM range of all the systems tested, the SIP Road 2.0 is our absolute favorite for stock engines. Compared to the stock exhaust, the SIP Road 2.0 not only delivers 18% more peak power but also provides a whopping 350% increase in power at 100 km/h, allowing for a significantly higher top speed. For under £120, it’s a no-brainer: a great Exhaust with a stock look and plenty of punch.”
–Scootering, Exhaust Test, 07/2013
“Installation is easy and the fit is excellent. (...) The SIP complements the high-torque 210 POLINI perfectly and thus ideally meets the needs of touring riders who don’t prioritize every last PS of peak power but rather rich torque at manageable RPMs.”
–Roller Journal, Exhaust Test, 02/2014
“SIP Road 2: Aside from using it as a test and rental scooter, I want my PX200 to be reliable and suitable for everyday use above all else. That’s why tuning was always out of the question. That is, until the old original exhaust gave out and I discovered that PIAGGIO no longer even offered such a basic replacement part. After ordering three different exhaust systems from aftermarket suppliers and returning them all due to poor quality, I decided on the SIP Road 2.0. Friends had recommended it to me, and they were absolutely right: It has only a slightly muffled sound but delivers noticeably more power. Plus, it fits like a glove. I’m still impressed.”
–Andy, Editor of SCOOTERING Magazine, 06/2015
“In addition to the SIP Road, there are also similar touring exhaust systems, but they rarely match the SIP Road in terms of performance and build quality. Another perfect feature of the SIP Road is that we can easily get it type-approved in Austria. Road-legal thanks to the SIP Road. Perfect.”
