Looks and handling. The SIP Performance Rim star combines several worlds.

The 10-inch ring rims of classic Vespas can be screwed onto the 5 x 86 mm bolt circle of modern Vespas with the SIP Rim star. This creates a completely new look for the classic Vespas.

In most cases, the Rim star is also converted to Disc Brake at the same time - in this case, there is a significant improvement in handling.

CNC parts are considered to be highly precise. The SIP Performance Rim star makes this characteristic tangible on every ride. The wheel runs particularly smoothly, without radial or axial runout, even at high speeds. The material used for the spider is high-strength 7075 aluminum, often referred to as Ergal. Extremely light, low unsprung masses, which is why similar parts have been popular in racing for several years.

The outer rim flange with a diameter of 202 mm and 5-hole circle 220 accommodates the standard rims of classic Vespas. The SIP Stud Kits, e.g. 47163200, can be perfectly combined for mounting. Note: Problems with the valve position can arise with sheet metal rims; the combination with our tubeless rim "with recesses" 81061 MY is predestined.

In combination with our tubeless rims SIP 81061 MY, the look of the rim star comes out best! The outer reinforcement ring of the star hides invisibly, so to speak, behind the mounting surface of the rims; this creates an extremely open, unprecedented, airy appearance of the wheels.

In combination with a 2.10 x 10" Rim, the SIP Performance Rim star creates an offset of around ET 30. This is the original dimension of most Piaggio 10" and 11" modern Vespa rims (so-called "ZIP SP"). The wider rims of the Cosa and SKR models can also be combined, as can our SIP tubeless rim 2.50 x 10" with the already familiar minimal track offset of around 5 mm.

The Rim star can be used on ZIP SP Steering Columns as well as on PK/PX/T5 Forks - in combination with the corresponding Wheel Hub ET30. We have labeled the Wheel Hubs for you with the ET numbers (offset) so that you know which parts can be combined. ET20 are modern Vespas with 12" rims, GTS and late PV-Sprint. ET30 are older modern Vespas, often called "ZIP SP", but also ET2, ET4 and LX, LXV and S. The SIP Rim star requires an ET30 Wheel Hub.

The center hole for centering is identical on all modern Vespas, a 46 mm diameter fit; however, the inner diameter of the hole for the Hub Nut Cover differs on many rims and ~stars! After all, it has no vital function and can therefore even be made to fit using a Dremel or file.

The SIP Rim star is not intended for use with a Hub Nut Cover. We recommend our optically refurbished CNC nut baskets 19442200 and 19442400 in red and black.
