The solution for a new rim design

The SIP Series Pordoi - Rim in size 10 - inch for all Classic Vespas! That was our dream and now it's coming true. We have this high-precision Wheel Hub for all Classic Vespas with Disc Brake and have also had it tested so that you can now upgrade to the new generation of rims without any worries and completely legally.

The SIP Performance Wheel Hub replaces the Brake Drum of the Piaggio Disc Brakes of late PX Vespa's and the Grimeca drums of retrofitted Disc Brakes. Instead of the large bolt circle for the Vespa-typical ring rims, the Wheel Hub offers the 5/86 bolt circle in the center, which is standard on modern Vespas. This means that the rims of the Piaggio ET2/ET4, ZIP etc., as well as the newer modern Vespas GTS and Primavera/Sprint can be adapted.

However, one selection criterion must be observed: The offset (ET). Older modern Vespas, especially with 10" rims, have ET30. Newer modern Vespas, especially those with 12" wheels, run with ET20. The SIP Series Pordoi Rim in 10" Art. No. 6505 corresponds to this system with offset 30. The SIP Rim 6505 is permitted for use in the parts certificate of the Wheel Hub. The SIP Rim star 39047 also fits thanks to ET30.

The Brake Disc is attached to the rear of the Wheel Hub. All Vespa-typical washers with an inner diameter of 97 mm fit. Floating Brake Discs also fit without reworking. We recommend our SIP Performance Brake Disc 56324610. The parts certificate for the Wheel Hub refers to the original Piaggio Brake Disc or replacement parts with ECE R90 marking (Galfer GF650W).

The SIP Wheel Hub in the ET30 version (39044200) has passed all load tests and is approved for use on public roads. Registration in the vehicle documents is carried out via a parts certificate after approval by a technical service (e.g. TÜV). SIP also offers a complete kit with parts certificate: "Radial Disc Brake" incl. conversion wheel hub 5/86 ET30, Art. No. 300R30xH.

The detailed Mounting Instruction including parts certificate for 390442 is included with all SIP Wheel Hubs 39044. The Wheel Hubs with the offset ET20 are largely identical in construction to the ET30 Hub; although they are not mentioned in the parts certificate, it can be assumed that they will also withstand all loads. The load tests were fulfilled with the worst-case loads in the event of conversion to the larger 12" rims! (Information for the technical service).

Riding behavior, wheel contact point and track offset: The wheel contact point with Wheel Hub 5/86 and the SIP Rim 6505 changes in the same way as when the wider ring rim SIP 81011 or 2.50-10 is fitted to an original Vespa. These dimensions are the standard width of the newer 10" Vespas (Cosa, Skipper, ET2/ET4 etc.) and are recognized, even very popular.

Conclusion: A big step towards new vehicle designs and custom possibilities. All 100 percent safe thanks to tests and approval for public road traffic.
