The almost legendary SIP sport seats are one of the first items we ever produced under the SIP banner. They were then and still remain one of our key products that we have very good reason to be proud of. The first prototype was created in 1993 with a lot of blood and body filler in the dark catacombs of the first SIP shop. Since then the original and innovative design of our famous sports seats have graced the frames of some of the finest custom scooters on the european mainland, for the past two decades : 'El Sidney', 'Ring of fire', Glorious Basterd', 'Rich Racer',' Red Bull Racer',’Wolle 250', 'elf', 'Aeon Flux' and 'In the web of Spiderman' to name but a few...
The fibreglass version consists of a triple layered glass fibre matting construction, with a polyurethane core or frame. It is then finished with a very smooth, pore free, surface, primed to paint.
The carbon fibre version is constructed using the finest quality resin, strengthened with carbon fibre matting. Combined with the high end, performance orientated 'race track' look the carbon fibre design also has more than one technological advantage in tow : It is seven times stronger and also three times stiffer, but still five times lighter for the equivalent mass than steel ! The seat should be finished using a clear lacquer paint to preserve and protect the high gloss look of the carbon fibre construction.
Both seat models are mounted to the frame of your VESPA with a robust, yet light, hinge mechanism. The seats are delivered as kits, complete with mounting instructions, fixings and other parts necessary to fix the seat to your scooter.

SIP-TIP: For longer tours we can highly recommend the addition of foam padding between your seating mechanism and this one. We have seat padding suitable to fit and also a locking mechanism to help protect against pilfering.
SIP-TIP: In order to have the seat fit nicely, please shorten the support rubbers with a knife where the seat has too much elevation. In case a support rubber does not touch the chassis, please even out with rubber washers. All support rubbers should touch the chassis. In case the seat should touch the knurled screw of the tank with the old PX model, please order the flat knurled screw. That?s it.
