Flowed Crankshafts are regarded as a contemporary further development of classic diaphragm shafts: The crank webs are redesigned so that the gas flow is not unnecessarily blocked or swirled at the intake. In the SERIE PRO series, Crankshafts based on MAZZUCCHELLI and TAMENI are reworked for this purpose by the German tuning company WORB5. The result is more usable housing volume, a more efficient gas flow and thus a setup that enables a wider rev band and higher performance potential. Flowed Crankshafts are designed exclusively for diaphragm intake - use as a rotary valve shaft is not possible.

In the Reed Valve setup, it is not only the Cylinder that determines performance, but above all how freely and cleanly the fresh gas can flow into the crankcase. This is precisely where the Flowed Crankshaft comes in: Thanks to the revised, flow-optimized contour, the mixture does not hit cheek surfaces that are "in the way" when flowing in. At the same time, the cheek machining creates more usable volume in the Casing, the pre-compression is reduced and more fresh gas can flow in. This makes it easier to implement the required passage cross-sections for diaphragm engines with a housing inlet - without the inlet becoming a bottleneck during operation.
