Most VESPA scooters have been exposed to just about every kind of weather type in their respective lifetimes. From the odd arctic blizzard to the occasional saharan sand storm (with salty sea air), scooters can experience it all. The seats are usually the worst affected by all of this environmental erosion. They become sun bleached, start to crack up and eventually tear. With every new rain shower the now exposed foam innards of the seat soaks up so much water that you are guaranteed a wet pair of trousers in the seating area, everytime you want to ride your scooter. By this time at least, it's time for a new seat!
The seat opening mechanisms of these varying seats are operated using either a key lock, a lever or a button located at the rear of the unit. The seats equipped with a seat strap are cleared for use with pillions in some mainland european countries.
The seats for the VESPA GS150/GS160/SS180 and T5 models are, sadly, no longer produced by PIAGGIO. Due to this deficit in supply we have organised replacements in original quality, made in Italy! These items stand out from the crowd with their high production quality and are absolutely identical to the original items in both shape and colour. If a different length of seat spike is required to properly mount the particular model of seat, it is included with the seat on delivery. All of these seats covers are produced using tough, high quality, weather resistant vinyl.
Note: The center strut of the SS180's seat, located above the Tank, is higher on this Model. It fits perfectly on the Vespa 125 VNA/VNB/GT/GTR/Super/TS and 150 VBA/VBB/GL/Sprint/V/Super/T4 models, allowing for the use of an XL Tank on those models. The best seat you can treat your ’60s/’70s large-frame Vespa to.
The GS160 seat is also a sight to behold. However, the center strut must be adjusted if this seat is to be used on other Models.
