Crankcase for Vespa largeframe models from POLINI Motori: diaphragm-controlled and reinforced, available for 200cc and 125cc engines.
The POLINI Crankcase features innovative solutions and a variable reed valve intake.
- Optionally available with a flat reed valve under the SI carburettor or with a reed valve for Carburettor with a big block
- Available as a small and big block
- With plenty of material for reinforcements and sealing surface
The POLINI Crankcase is prepared to accommodate either a small Reed Valve, which can be placed under the original SI carburettor, or for the use of a large Reed Valve box. The large box requires the use of a tuning carburetor such as Dell'Orto PHBH, Mikuni TMX or Keihin PWK. Of course, POLINI carburettors can also be used.
Two variants for large and small Engines
The POLINI Casing is available for Vespa 200 cc cylinders or for cylinders from 125 cc to 187 cc. Both variants differ in the cylinder mount. However, both variants offer considerably more space for the transfer ports than the original casings.
Material has also been added in other places to Reinforce the Casing. There is also a whole series of small improvements. For example, the crankcase is fitted with one more Stud and the crankshaft bearing on the clutch side can be replaced from the outside together with the Oil Seal.
Please note: Polini uses a special bearing for the crankshaft on the ignition side and a special shaft seal on the clutch side. The crankshaft bearing on the ignition side has the same dimensions as those on the Rally and T5 models (25x52x15mm). However, it is not a roller bearing but a ball bearing with increased clearance (C4).
The shaft seal on the clutch side can only be replaced from the outside, i.e. from the clutch side. Neither the bearing nor the shaft seal can move towards the crankshaft. The shaft seal is identical in design to the original shaft seal, but differs in its outer diameter: 56 mm.
Conclusion: A very innovative and high-quality replacement for the engines of the Vespa large-frame models.
